The .mothers day dining was unbelievable. The steak was an unexpected surprise and I am not a fish eater but I took a chance on the stuffed flounder. It was great. If father's day is not as spectacular I will not be able happy camper. All in all I think the food has greatly improved since our hef Wes arrived. We have a new dining team and things are looking up.

Since the management transition to Legends Senior Living, there has been a noticeable decline in quality across several aspects of the facility. The food offerings have diminished, and meals are certainly not “great” in any means, as well as being terribly overprocessed. They took away the nicer hard-covered menus and replaced with paper ones (I’m not sure why, but I assume they’re cutting corners as always). Service response times are slow, and activities are primarily limited to very basic outings such as trips to Shoprite or Dollar Tree, with occasional monthly lunch excursions. Additionally, rent has increased significantly. There are persistent maintenance issues, including HVAC malfunctions, leaks, indoor flooding, and pest concerns. Staffing levels among kitchen personnel and technicians appear inadequate, which is reflected in high turnover rates it seems; however, the nursing staff and care partners consistently demonstrate dedication and compassion toward residents. Outdoor amenities are completely lacking, with no patio area, pergolas, seating, grill, or outdoor fireplace which can be found at similar facilities. The very large, sizable courtyard currently remains unused and all grass but has so much potential for recreational improvements, such as bocce courts or something else so they can actually go outside at times when the weather is nice. While most staff members maintain positive relationships with residents and foster a friendly environment, their numbers are insufficient to meet ongoing needs. Despite raising these concerns with management, no substantive improvements have been observed, and upper management has not demonstrated any responsiveness whatsoever to feedback or suggestions or even acknowledgement of some of these issues, needs / wants. Although resident meetings occur, many choose not to attend, citing a lack of effective action. It is important that residents receive a higher standard of care and amenities, particularly given the increasing costs associated with living at this facility. Upper management / owners in Kansas need to step it up a lot, because they simply do not care, and don't seem to want to fund anything more or come up with better quality and ideas there.

I agree with David and Nicole. I would love to get my mom out of there but its hard to move someone after they have settled. New management destroyed Heartis and made it Remington. The food concerns are so real. Nothing fresh-no accomodations for any special diets. Staff revealed that the food budget per day reduced from $9-$7.50 per resident. The price went up 17% this year. The new ED when I discussed concerned was bored and uncaring. yes the facility is nice looking and the apartment sizes are good. But food is central to a seniors well being and the lack of interest in improving it along with chronic staff shortages to the point of my mother not getting proper meds because no one was on duty is negligent. I have tried many times to talk to Legends Staff. the first time I was told they agreed food was terrible. They then cut the budget and it got worse. There are a few great staff members for whom I am grateful.

… Extremely positive experience at the Remington of Yardley. Both the environment and the staff create a very welcoming feel. I notice many details showing me that someone took the time and energy to care about people and make this facility a convenient and nice place to live. From the start, the second I contacted Lee, he exhibited great communication and kind consideration for my elderly parent. He was willing to help in various ways, and was always patient and approachable while managing my many questions. It was obvious that he was sincere in his desire to help provide care for my loved one. He persevered with the details of our situation. I would say he went above and beyond to help my mom and me adjust to this new environment. I also had the privilege of meeting Vanda, who is an amazing director of the memory care unit. She has phenomenal leadership skills, while working tirelessly to sincerely lead and to care for all of the memory care residents and the staff. She asked important questions about my mom and followed through with whatever was discussed. In all of my communication with her, she was always gracious and respectful. I have great appreciation and respect for how she manages this memory care unit. Lastly, I enjoy the caretaking staff in The Remington’s memory care. They come prepared to help, and are always encouraging and supportive. I can see the close teamwork and management staff who are serious about careful planning, communicating, and supporting of their residents and families. I will never regret choosing the Remington of Yardley.
