The Oaks at Woodfield

I apologize as this is going to be a long review, but I personally read and value reviews. My father has been a resident at the Oaks for around a month now. Overall, the experience has been very positive in almost every aspect. The facility is very nice, welcoming, well-kept and you have access to your loved one around the clock if you need it. --The management team has been very helpful the couple of interactions that we have had. I would like to personally thank Kash for his help and desire to make sure our needs have been met and my dad has been well cared for. --Megan, Allison and Mitch in therapy have been great with my father. They are all very patient with the residents but also try to push them to improve. They communicate well with our family so we know what progress has been made and how we can support my dad. --The food has been surprisingly good at the Oaks. My dad has issues with his teeth and the staff is always very willing to work with him on what he wants to eat even if they have to make something special. The food service team goes to each resident daily to get their orders for the coming days meals. So you have choices for what you want, not just take it or leave it. Every meal I have seen, a great number of residents go to the dining hall to eat and socialize. You can also eat in your room if you would rather do that. If you would like to eat with your loved one on occasion, you can do that for only around $8. Where else can you get a good hot meal for that price these days? --Lisa and her team in the activities department do an AMAZING job with the residents. There are several activities planned daily for residents from bingo to cards to movies to live music, star gazing, church services and choirs..... The common areas are always decorated to look very nice and homely. You can really tell that the activities team and volunteers work hard for the residents. --The nurses and aids also do a good job with my father and other residents. Many residents need a lot of help and there are usually enough people to keep up. On occasion, (as in any facility or hospital) we have had to wait longer than desired to get in-room assistance. It is usually not excessive and only happens on occasion. All in all, the facility and all of the employees that our family has interacted with are very nice and try to do a good job to support my father and the other residents. If you are looking for a good place for your loved one to either get some rehab services or move for longer term care, you won't be disappointed with the Oaks.

I can not praise The Oaks and staff enough. My grandpa has been here about a month and a half, and the care has been truly exceptional. My grandfather can be stubborn and, therefore, a bit difficult at times, but the nurses are always kind and patient with him. They are able to push him just enough when needed, and can get him out to socialize or move around. The range of activities/events is phenomenal! He is also a very picky eater. On the whole, the kitchen staff has been great about following his dietary requests and meeting his needs. Every member of the Oaks' team has been such a blessing. They are angels. I feel safer knowing my grandpa is here and seeing how well he is taken care of each day.

This place it top notch. Between the very friendly and help staff, to the awesome activities they do for their residence and their families. A great place that will take care of your loved one. My Grandma is here, and my daughter and I always enjoy our visit here.

This facility is amazing! The culture is different compare to other places. If the resident in any room calls, then no matter who passes by, a head nurse, or a therapist, or a custodian, or an aid, or a kitchen staff, tries to help or calls somebody else for help. The doctors, the nurses, and the nurse aids are knowledgable and caring, the PT and OT staff is wonderful, the food is restaurant quality, the dietitian and the kitchen stuff are incredible. Thank you to the executive director and to the clinical director for making such a difference! My mother's stay after surgery at this SAR lead to her remarkable recovery.
