From our first meeting through the successful move of my friend, Linda, everyone at The Lodge was amazing. Kaitlin and Rhonda were so kind and supportive during this somewhat stressful time. On move-in day, everything was at the ready and all the staff was so helpful! The Lodge is a beautiful, cheery, clean facility with dining areas that feel like a restaurant not a school cafeteria, but most important, all the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. We are very pleased with our choice and experience at The Lodge.

My Dad is a 99 year old WWII veteran. He was moved into this institution in November. I have made repeated attempts to reach my Father and have either been told no he doesn't have phone access or sent to a nursing station and no on one picks up. I sent a Christmas package to him with no response. Did he get it or was it flaged and gone through and not forwarded to him? I have sent emails to both the Director of Nursing Misha Walter's and her assistant Pam Timmons with no answer to it. I reached out to have a phone to be placed wherever they are keeping him so I may call him. I also was going to pay for this out of my pocket at $70.00 per month as there website claims I can. I called to speak with a Melissa Miller who was not in and connected to an assistant and left a message and my call was not returned till the next day at 5:00 PM. After explaining the situation and my willingness to pay for the phone service I was told she was going to forward my request to the Director of Nursing for a response, giving her my phone and email. To date no response from this institution and I find this appalling as I am 69 years old and live in Florida. Prior to my Father being put in this institution I would communicate with him regularly and now this institution has denied me this. All I want is to speak to my Father on a regular basis before he or I close our eyes for the last time! Beware were you place your Loved ones! ****************************************************************** I did attempt to contact the Executive Director Dean Reid and as usual with this institution you reach out to them you are directed to leave a voice mail!

I questioned if The Lodge was the right place for our loved one. The thought of placing our dad in Memory Care was overwhelming. A friend recommended The Lodge at Historic Lewes. His dad was a resident, and he knew The Lodge would be exactly what we were looking for. When I made the call, I knew immediately that I was in the right place. Every person I spoke to, beginning with the Director of Community Relations, was empathetic, respectful, professional, and showed enthusiasm to help us through the process. After visiting The Lodge, taking a tour, and learning about the amenities, I asked if they had room for me! It is very well appointed with a clean and serene atmosphere. And since that first day, I’ve never been greeted without a smile or anyone unwilling to help. The Lodge at Historic Lewes has several ‘communities’ housed into one facility. Independent and Assisted Living, and Memory Care all have different guidelines as it relates to the level of resident amenities and security. I can only speak to my experience with the Memory Care facility. The daily caregivers, nurses, and aides are genuinely committed to the residents’ needs. Caring for someone with dementia is challenging. These people have raised the bar on their commitment and understanding for the Memory Care residents. And our dad has developed connections and is able to interact with others that he would not have at home. I’m one that reads reviews. Amongst the list of rave reviews, I’ve seen one or two negatives. It happens. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but based on the number of positive reviews, my own experience, and the accolades The Lodge receives from the surrounding community, I wouldn’t concern myself with the negatives. If you need help with a loved one, call The Lodge.

Dads coming up on his 1year anniversary of relocating. I couldn’t be, as well as he feels, more pleased now that all special fields of Drs are chosen, been seen and we are both very pleased. To me, ALL staff n employees, go above n beyond for residents cares, needs n wants .. The meal planning and chef cooks various foods in which are superb.. EVERY employed member of many various departments are super friendly and very compassionate to all residents. This move n relocate from another state was a bit challenging to complete but definitely was the wisest decision.
