My 81 year old father moved in a month ago and we've been thrilled with every aspect of this new community. Building and amenities: Stunning! The aesthetics in every room and common area are just perfect. It is such an attractive place to be. There are two game rooms (pool, mah jong, poker, scrabble, jigsaw puzzles, tic tac toe, bananagrams - you name it!), a gorgeous movie theater with popcorn and candy, a demonstration kitchen, a gym, a balance/yoga studio, a library, an art room, and an incredible rooftop with games, TVs, fireplaces, a pizza oven, and plenty of lounge areas. It's really like a 4 star hotel. Rooms: My Dad is in a 1 bedroom. There are many options with north, south, east or west facing views. We chose south to get all the sunshine. Again, the details are excellent. Three closets, an updated kitchen (that even has gentle lighting that comes on when you approach), a spacious bathroom, easy to use temperature controls, and a nice-sized bedroom and living area. Furthermore, though the Leonard is on two busy cross streets, we've found his room to be quite soundproof. Food: The restaurant, Savor, is just perfect. It's open from 7am-7pm and all meals are included so there's no worrying about getting there at a certain time or going over your monthly limit. The specials change every day but there is also a standard menu so you can always get sandwiches, pasta, a burger, salmon, steak, or salads. A special shout-out to the soups that have been possibly the best part of the restaurant! You can always request different desserts. The staff in the restaurant is so friendly and I know my Dad really loves seeing Shirly for his morning oatmeal and bacon. Savor is on the top floor so there is a lot of light and a nice view. Staff: Everyone has been lovely. From Cheyenne who gave us our first tour, to Tatiana who helped us with the move-in, and then Jules and Sal who run the activities. Just great people who are very human and also hilarious. Community: My Dad was the 8th person to move in and I believe they may be up to 20 by now. As a result, there are already some solid friendships which has been a highlight. Everyone is breaking in the place together so there really is a sense of community. Another highlight is the valet! Again, all very friendly and it is easy to come and go. There have been a few hiccups but they were small and to be expected for a building that has just opened up. I will be sure to update this review if anything changes, but for now I can say that The Leonard has been an incredible home for my Dad and a terrific place to visit!

The staff at the Leonard were truly professional and kind to us during what would have been otherwise a very stressful transition. Such heroes!

My family and I have spent the last year planning the move of my father into an independent/assisted living home. We've researched, toured, and considered many options and ultimately decided on the Leonard for a lot of reasons and moved my dad in this month. The location, building design, and most importantly, the staff, have made what can be a very stressful experience into a great one. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking in the Los Angeles area.
