We bought one of the cottages last spring and have been living here now for 7 months. We love it here. We live on a dead-end street and have the most wonderful neighbors. We really enjoy living all on one floor with an attached, heated garage. And we are delighted that all the yard work gets done professionally and we get our house cleaned every two weeks. It makes life so easy! Our house looks over a wooded ravine which gives us a lot of privacy, we have wonderful walking trails nearby. We also love the programs and activities here such as the chorale singing group, the fitness center, the movie theater, and the many live music programs available. There is always something to do if you are so inclined, or you can just enjoy the peace and quiet of your own home and neighborhood.

My father moved to the Highlands in 2022, and I couldn't be happier with his move. The staff are incredibly professional and friendly, and after just a few visits they knew who I was and who I was there to visit. I am always greeted warmly. The food is delicious, the programs available to the residents are amazing, and I feel very happy knowing that my dad is in a safe place with people who care about him. I highly recommend the Highlands for senior living and care.

Great place to walk. My family did get harassed, followed & told to leave by an older women who claimed we are not allowed to walk there because we are not 55+. She was very rude & unfriendly. My husband, 2 year old & I were walking respectfully on the sidewalks. After checking the website that they terribly behaved women had stated would tell me we were not welcome, I saw she was WRONG! The site did not say anything about the public being unwelcome. So I called the Highland company number on their website & spoke with a very kind representative. The women stated that the public is 100% welcomed & allowed to walk in the community. People often do so, take photos & use it as a cut through to the Fairgrounds. The representative informed me that I was very welcome to spend any day walking through the community & that the older resident was incorrect. Our daughter was very upset & it ruined our beautiful walking time. We will go back again to hopefully get to enjoy it. Hopefully, she will have been spoken with by then & we won’t have to worry about being followed & harassed again. The property is a gorgeous place to walk & easy with great sidewalks. Don’t let the older resident chase you out. Take your time & enjoy the views 😊 I am sorry the only experience I had with a resident was so Unfriendly & down right poor behavior by an uninformed, unpleasant individual. I hope not everyone in the community behaves this way.

On behalf of our family, we want to thank and endorse The Highlands as a quality, caring community that has met or exceeded the needs of our two most important family members in the Estates setting, and in the last two years, in the Assisted Living environment. All the people including support staff and administration are sincerely responsive to needs. The facilities are cared for and well maintained. Activities, socialization, quality and quantity of meals and amenities are really great. We are very pleased with our family's decision to be part of The Highlands community since 2005!
