The Gardens at Marysville

The Gardens is a wonderful place! They have live music weekly, daily activities to exercise both the mind and the body. They enable residence to continue to use their skills and knowledge prior to moving to The Gardens while living there. They have resident mentors for new and shy residents to learn the ropes and introduce them to social activities. The staff build relationships with each resident, knowing their name, likes/dislikes, family, ect. This has been the best choice for our family by far.

My mom needed quick placement and extra care. The staff and administration of the Gardens went above and beyond to get my mom placed in a timely manner, and to facilitate access to extra care that was incredibly helpful and beneficial. The facility is clean and the residents are happy and friendly. My mom's care is now being managed by a team of professionals that I could not have gathered on my own. I am incredibly grateful for the assistance that the Gardens provided to get her in, and for the care she's receiving now that she's there. Highly recommended.

I can’t say enough about the Gardens Memory care. The staff are so friendly and are so attentive to my Mom. She has been thriving ever since we moved her there. The food is great and we especially like the Family dining room. It’s private and has the at home feel. I highly recommend The gardens to anyone who is looking for Memory Care for your loved one. I promise you won’t regret it

⚠️ If I Could Give Zero Stars, I Would. Please do not place your elderly parent or loved one at The Gardens at Marysville. Our experience has been extremely disappointing and, at times, alarming. We moved our mother into this facility about a year ago and informed staff that she needed to be transferred to memory care as soon as a space was available. We were told she would be placed on the waiting list, and we were even given a tour of the memory care unit by the sales staff. Now, they are claiming that we removed her from the list because they decided she didn't need memory care—without ever speaking to us or honoring the medical and family input. One of the most troubling issues is safety. My mother is a smoker, and the facility backs up to a Fred Meyer store. We found out that she was walking there alone daily to buy cigarettes. We immediately requested that she only go out in the company of staff or a group, and were reassured this would be enforced. Yet, shortly after, my mother called us from Fred Meyer—alone again—after being given a key to the gate by the facility. Due to ongoing neglect, we had to hire outside hospice care to ensure she was showering, wearing clean clothes, and getting basic care. Her apartment frequently smells like urine, and the rooms are barely cleaned. It is absolutely unacceptable. The administration staff come off like used car salespeople—telling you what you want to hear with no follow-through. I was told someone would always be at the front desk from 7am to 7pm, but 90% of the time, no one is there. It even took them six months to add her name to the sign-in/out system. This facility seems to care more about money than the actual wellbeing of its residents. We will be filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, state elder care regulators, and any other appropriate channels to make sure this doesn’t happen to other families.
