When we first began the search for an assisted living community, our biggest hope was to find a place where Mom wouldn’t just “get by” but where she could truly thrive. Choosing Esther at Riverbend has been the best decision our family could have made. From the moment she arrived, we noticed a positive change. The warm, caring team welcomed her as if she were family, and the atmosphere felt alive with purpose. What really stands out is that Mom isn’t just surviving day to day anymore she is flourishing. She’s more engaged, more active, and most importantly, she’s happy again. One of the things that gives our family incredible peace of mind is the new Go Icon feature. It allows us to know when she’s joining in on activities, and it reassures us that she’s not spending her days isolated. Instead, she’s out there playing games, attending social gatherings, and laughing with friends. We can actually see that she’s socializing and enjoying her time, which has made such a difference in her overall outlook. Seeing Mom thriving making connections, staying active, and truly enjoying life has lifted such a weight off our shoulders. Esther at Riverbend is more than just a community; it’s a place where residents are encouraged to live fully, with dignity and joy. Our family couldn’t be more grateful.

After a lengthy search, we found an excellent Assisted Living home, the Esther at Riverbend for our mother. The Executive Director, Tonya Hodges' professionalism and exceptional knowledge of the Assisted Living industry made the Esther an easy choice. On arrival, we were immediately welcomed by Tonya's staff and community residents. The grounds are well maintained, and the interior common areas are kept meticulously clean. The staff have a very positive attitude, and provide attentive and compassionate care for our mothers specific needs. Of note, Alena, a care partner, demonstrates daily a friendly, caring, and supportive attitude towards our mother and other members of the Ester residential community. We are very pleased to have our mother at this Assisted Living facility where she is thriving.

I am blown away by this community! I have never seen so much consideration and attention to detail taken in the construction of a senior care community. Every room is full of thoughtful touches meant to enrich each community member’s experience. Scott Hanson led me on a tour of the community and I was impressed with all of the staff members he introduced me to. I was met with bright smiles and warm greetings. Scott was the perfect host and even paused our tour briefly to assist a young man with carrying boxes into his grandfather’s new apartment. Definitely the kind of environment that I would recommend to my senior clients and loved ones.

The Esther has managed to reduce if not take away the stigma of aging. The Assisted Living complex is often buzzing with activity; It's clear that the residents feel a sense of autonomy & ownership over the many shared spaces. People are often gathered, enjoying good conversation (making connections) serving each other at the coffee bar early in the morning, or sharing stories at special wine events. The Design & people who participate in the management and care of the AL complex has invited the people dwelling there to feel & experience their residence as a next chapter, with true possibilities for growth, not an ending. The staff are warm, friendly, responsible and responsive. There is a difference between enfeebling and helping. The staff at the Esther, clearly help when needed, facilitate when appropriate, & step back and enjoy (even participate) in the synergy when that is happening all on its own. On a personal level my mother was in very fragile condition, having many critical (Traumatic) symptoms occurring with a dementia diagnosis, the Nursing Management and Executive Director implemented a care plan, having to do with predicting the needs, verses reacting to crisis's, in real time, which has stabilized her life & made all the difference. She is now thriving. She feels safe, heard, taken care of, is sleeping well, symptoms managed, and is now even participating in art classes. Her symptoms & suffering from dementia have improved dramatically with the right care. With continued physical therapy, who knows what is possible! There are a variety of people living there; From the most active healthy individual (s) to the person who needs 24 hour care, the Esther is a pretty incredible place to live or to provide a home for a parent (s) with high needs. I can't say enough good about this group and location.
