Mom was in memory care for 5 months. The Memory care unit went months without housekeeper resulting in cockroach problem, very little activities for memory care residents, installed cameras in bedrooms without my consent for ‘ fall prevention’ yet no cameras in all common areas. Requested a care plan meeting and was told over 2weeks, various staff were ‘unavailable’ to participate. I was then emailed a care plan that i wasn’t included in the meeting,, and was billed retroactively to date of careplan, an additional 400/month fee. Lack of knowledgeable caregivers was an ongoing problem with constant change of staff. I felt compelled to check on my mom daily, and had friends visit a couple of hours a day to keep mom’s room/bedding/bathroom clean. My mom was sent to the hospital due to a behavioral change. She spent 22 days in the hospital with not one person from The Addison inquiring about her…i notified them at day 6 in hospital that i wasn’t sure she would be able to return. I asked if about a balance on her rentI heard back 2 weeks later with amount of monies due. Again, no inquiry of my mom’s health. I went in the evenings to remove her things as not to disturb the other residents and the night staff were genuinely concerned about my mom. Such little oversight from Ahca in terms of patient staff ratio with Alf’s and memory cares due to mostly private funds involved—no Medicare monies …and they all are bought and sold because they are big business/moneymakers.

A Truly Special Place with Exceptional People. What stood out most to me was the kindness and patience of the caregivers and administrators. They take the time to really get to know each resident, creating a sense of home and belonging. Whether it's a nurse offering a reassuring smile or an activity coordinator leading a fun event, everyone radiates positivity and respect. The Addison has created a community where residents are not only well cared for, but truly cherished. I have seen firsthand how much joy and companionship fills this place—largely thanks to the incredible people who make it all happen. If you're looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with compassion and feel valued every day, The Addison of St. John’s is the perfect choice.

The atmosphere of the Benton House is peaceful, family-loving and all inclusive of family members of residents and Day Care. My husband has attended day care for a year and the same staff is in place, and make us feel like family. Patients are well loved and cared for. It all begins with Matthew, the Administrator, Jessica, Receptionist, Amanda and Jackson who plan exeptional social activities that are creative and fun! Kym and staff in the Memory Care area, provide meaningful and fun art activities for the residents, as well as field trips to restaurants, movies and fun explorations in the area. No wonder they are rated #1in the nation by US World & News Report! They deserve it! If you are looking for a quality residential living or day care for a loved one, this is it!

Never anyone at front desk to help. Had to ask cleaning girl for help and access, as no other staff was available. Sites I visit generally take about 20 minutes for 3 patients. This one took an hour
