Be aware, The Addison of Port Orange has turned into a dumpster fire. The cost cutting and staff turnover has completely ruined what was once a family friendly, highly professional community. Since Sonida Senior Living acquired the business from The Benton House, the management and overall decision making has introduced health risks to every resident. My mother was given the wrong medications and once it was brought to the leadership’s attention, it was denied and not dealt with appropriately. Medication schedule varies daily. Morning meds can be given as late as 12 noon. A neighbor of my mother’s calls out continually for help with absolutely no response from the staff. Weekend staff presence is dangerously low. Staff members that have had to clean up bowel accidents have been sent to work in the kitchen immediately there after. Weekly entertainment has gone from fabulous to a joke, yet prices continue to increase. The fact that the director has never taken time to get to know each, and every resident as the previous director had speaks volumes. The previous director from Benton House not only knew the residents, but she was close with all of the family members as well. The head nurse who was a fabulous asset to Benton House finally had to leave after being told to work in the dining room and serve food in addition to her normal, full time duties.

I absolutely love the 3 ladies that work back there but sometimes they are alone. There are days you have only one staff member in Magnolia Trail. They never complain and step up for what is needed. You have many in wheelchairs, just a lot from what I see. There use to be three staff members at all times with exception of breaks. A great group of young ladies! Kudos to them!

Came into visit today and the first thing I noticed was that one of the Emus hatched! There are still a few more eggs to hatch. The Orchestra from Seabeeeze High School came performed for the resident, they were excellent! This facility provides such great things for the residents!

Unfortunately, this once incredible assisted living facility is slowly going downhill after the property changed ownership. Long time staff are all leaving. Care is becoming spotty and reliability is becoming increasingly worrisome. I can only hope they have an upswing in all of these things before we have to move my mother.
