This is a living facility that provides people with an apt and if needed elderly car like mental wards 24 hour care but the care personnel are limited in what they are suppose to provide there clients. That being said there are some of the best of the care profession here and they really do care for there clients. Its worth looking at if you or a family member is in need of a retirement place and the expense of a home is out of reach.

Our mother was a resident at the former Benton House for approximately two years before the community was acquired by Sonida Senior Living and renamed to The Addison of Oakleaf in late 2024. After the acquisition, our mother began to complain about the quality/tastiness of the food as well as a decline (both in quality and frequency) in planned daily activities for the residents. Meanwhile, we were informed there was a planned rate increase, and although our mother has Alzheimer’s (and moved into the community 2 years prior with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s), we have since learned that The Addison of Oakleaf personnel had our mother sign a 94-page new lease agreement in November 2024, without first having a family member who served as her personal representative review and sign the agreement, and without even informing the family at the time. She was absolutely in no way capable of understanding the agreement they had her sign. They even had her sign her name on lines where the family personal representative’s name was preprinted. In January 2025, the staff finally reluctantly shared they had her sign the agreement which they said would change her financial terms. The community now owes a substantial refund to our mother after she moved, and we have been trying to collect on it since early February 2025 to no avail; so we are now having to seek assistance from government agencies and consumer support organizations to recover our mother’s funds.

Attended a birthday party for a guest at The Benton House. The facility is very clean and the surroundings are beautiful. Staff is very friendly.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Benton House senior living community. As a REALTOR, I’ve had exposure to other facilities and I must say Benton House is a remarkable place! The facility is inviting, beautifully maintained, and full of activities to keep residents engaged. The caring staff and residents make it a warm and welcoming environment. Kathryn Bennett, the Communication Relations Director, was incredibly helpful and informative. I highly recommend a visit to anyone seeking this type of service. It's a five-star experience all the way!
