The Addison of Moorhead Place

It has been a year now since my parents moved into Moorehead Place and we are highly satisfied with their care and life there. From day one the staff was welcoming, supportive and very helpful - especially Sherri, the Community Relations Director! She has been helpful beyond our expectations and attentive to helping my parents get adjusted. The staff are kind, caring and encouraging. They check in regularly to ensure all residents are coming to the dining room for meals and to the common room for activities. My mom has therefore thrived from the stimulation, something we were hoping for! The facility is clean and well-run. Our family is very grateful for the exceptional care my mother received at The Addison of Moorehead Place during the last two years of her life. When independent living became unmanageable or unsafe for her, she transitioned to Moorehead Place. From day one, she felt secure, and the relief of having cooking, cleaning, and daily tasks taken care of was immediate. What truly sets Moorehead Place apart is how beautifully they adapted to her changing needs. When she first arrived and was quite mobile, the activities kept her thoroughly engaged. She loved playing cards, walking laps, and even participating in "chair racquetball." The staff accommodated her passion for reading by helping her host a book club right there at the facility. As her health naturally declined, the staff seamlessly adjusted her care. Every transition was handled with immense compassion and a high-level of professional nursing competence. I got to know both the Director and the lead nurse on a personal basis, and their communication gave me an immeasurable amount of comfort. I always knew she was in the safest, most capable hands. Beyond the daily care, they went above and beyond logistically, assisting us with the complexities of her long-term care insurance policy to ensure payments were handled smoothly. Moorhead Place didn’t just care for my mother; they gave our family peace of mind during a difficult season. My mother was in another “luxury living” personal care home in Indiana which I was not comfortable with. We got my mom on the waitlist but unfortunately she passed away. Sherri E. was so kind, attentive and helpful in trying to get my mom admitted. She was checking in on us while mom was hospitalized asking if she could help in any way. Even after she passed, she was still checking in. Never heard a word from the place she resided at for a year and a half, during her hospitalization or after her passing. I think this speaks volumes of Sherri and the staff and I would highly recommend you check them out if you’re looking for a home for your parents!

I have found The Addison at Moorehead House to be a very caring and professional residence for my 99 year old mother. The staff is very patient and treat my mother with respect for a woman with a long and interesting life. She is safe and comfortable and the atmosphere there is bright and open.
