Sunrise of Springfield

My parents lived at Sunrise in their final years. I was blown away by the care and attentiveness of the staff. The staff were so genuine, compassionate, and attentive to detail. I was living halfway around the world, and it was an enormous source of reassurance to know my parents were so well looked after and cared for. For three years this window was my father’s view.

I would personally like to thank the staff, nurses chef and the director. My mom was at sunrise for about 6 weeks. When she entered sunrise she could barely get up to use the bathroom and to feed herself. After her stay at sunrise, she was mobile and within a few weeks of being home with home assistance she was able to cook and take care of herself and my dad. Even after she left the director at sunrise still calls to check on me and our family. I am so appreciative that we have services such as this that can go beyond and deliver. I sincerely thank you for your care of my mom. Thank you again

I strongly advise against placing your loved ones in this facility. The conditions in the memory care unit are deeply concerning and raise serious questions about the quality of care being provided. Having only four care givers responsible for more than 38 residents is completely unacceptable and creates an environment where neglect is almost inevitable. No resident deserves to receive inadequate attention because the facility chooses to operate with insufficient staffing. The cleanliness of the facility is equally alarming. The building is filthy, and there is an ongoing roach infestation that management has failed to address. It is evident that maintaining a safe, clean, and dignified living environment is not a priority. To make matters worse, staff members are frequently forced to search other rooms for basic supplies, such as wipes, because management fails to keep essential items adequately stocked. The caregivers are doing the best they can under extremely difficult circumstances, but they should not be expected to provide quality care without the necessary staffing and resources. Families trust these facilities with the care of their loved ones, and this facility has failed to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness, staffing, and resident care. Until management takes meaningful action to address these serious issues, I cannot recommend this facility to anyone.

High marks to Sunrise for excellent food. Friends and I joined a resident there for an early Thanksgiving Dinner. The turkey dinner with all of the trimmings was absolutely delicious. The staff was most welcoming and helped served dinner. Thanksgiving decorations made it a festive occasion. We have dined there other times and have always enjoyed the food. Thank you to the staff at Sunrise for a most enjoyable evening.
