Sunrise of Smithtown

I wanted to take the time to leave Sunrise at Smithtown a review, expressing how grateful I am. Before Sunrise, my mom was in a very dark place. The previous assisted living facility she was in didn't allow her to be her independent self and walk amongst the facility alone. She was staying in a confined area having to completely relinquish control to strangers. Her hallucinations, delusions became more frequent and reoccurring. She would call me nightly crying saying how much she hated it. The night and day switch in her progression after we had relocated to Sunrise spoke for itself within the first week. My mom is happy and positive. She doesn't question when she's leaving and now considers this place her new home. We acknowledge how difficult the transition can be and we are at ease with the staff being so considerate, understanding, and patient. My mom is in memory care and I am impressed and appreciative of everyone who works here. I have not one negative thing to say about Sunrise. Highly recommended for anyone in this situation with their loved ones. If there were more than 5 stars, I definitely rate it higher!

If I could give more than 5 Stars, I would, based on the recent experience we’ve had with our close family member becoming a new resident at Sunrise of Smithtown! Beginning with our first visit and tour on day one and continuing, each individual on the team has been kind, caring, informative and most of all, warm and welcoming! Our loved one is comfortable, safe, healthier and most importantly, engaged in social activities and happy! We are very glad to be a part of the Sunrise of Smithtown family!

The Team at Sunrise have been so thoughtful and caring with my grandmother. The facility is beautiful, cozy and clean, the staff is always available to help and their are many activities for the residents including events with family as well. I'm so happy to hear how well she is doing and I can see how well she is being cared for when I visit. I feel comforted knowing my grandma is in a safe environment that she really enjoys.

The facility is clean and well organized. Marlon helped to guide me through a difficult personal process. He was compassionate and makes himself available for help and questions. I know my husband is in good hands. The other staff members Marissa, Jennifer, and others are friendly and helpful. Thank you!
