Sunrise of Columbia

As we are aging, our daughter wanted us to move into a facility where we would not the responsibilty of running a household, and managing help iin our home. We visited several of the area facilities, and found Sunrise of Columbia the best fit for our needs. We feel we made the correct decision, and are glad to be here. Most of the staff is very responsive to our needs and make an effort to help us when we ask. We feel that we have made an absolute correct choice in being at the Sunrise of Columbia.

Sunrise's staff is so pleasant, caring, and patient. I feel my loved one is safe and well cared for there.

I have been pleased with the care that my husband has received at Sunrise of Columbia. He is on the memory care floor and the team has done a great job to acclimate him to living there (a rather long and difficult process at times). Now I believe he feels comfortable with the people and the routine there and is doing well.

Our family's experience with Sunrise of Columbia was our third facility for our father. Far and away, this has met his changing needs due to dementia, aging, lowering mobility, and increased care needs. We are able to be honest with concerns and make care plans unique to his status and needs; and are respected for our input and work toward an amenable solution. The transition to needing to move to the dementia unit was handled with sensitivity and care. From the concierge to the care staff to the nursing to leadership, we feel like he, as well as we, are family. Most all staff treat our father with respect and even when he's expressing upset, they give him space, and vary the approach to achieve success in tasks or care. We especially appreciate the effort to assign consistent caregivers so they get to know his habits and nature, and ones who show great caring whatever the response he displays. Our goal is that this is his last "home", so that we are confident in his care as his health evolves. Thanks immensely from an involved family.
