Sunrise at La Costa

I would highly recommend Sunrise La Costa for families who need memory care for their loved ones. Memory care, called Reminiscence, is available on the lower floor, and the rest of the facility is for independent and assisted living, which I do not have experience with. However, the Reminiscence floor gave my father great care for the seven months he was living there until his passing. I really liked how the floor is laid out, with the common dining area and activity area in the middle and the rooms laid out in a vaguely oval shape around it. This keeps the residents in the middle of things and less isolated. Also I can't say enough about the Reminiscence staff. They are of course dementia trained, which really matters for this population, and my father received great care. I know because I visited him four to five days a week and saw firsthand not only how they treated him but also the other residents. Of course there will always be some miscommunications and things that go wrong, but whenever something like that happened we were able to work through it to a resolution that was the best for my dad. I highly recommend Sunrise for seniors who need memory care.

We moved my Mom into Sunrise La Costa exactly a week ago and they have already exceeded our expectations as far as being a caring, attentive, and accommodating new home for her! They worked so diligently and quickly to make the move-in process seamless. The caregivers are utterly fantastic! They check on Mom regularly and speak to her tenderly, helping her with mobility while treating her with dignity. Each of my family members feels the same way—We can’t thank the staff and the residents here at Sunrise La Costa enough because it brings us such peace and joy to see Mom feeling safe, content, and well cared for.

We looked at several assisted living places and Sunrise Carlsbad is absolutely the best. The rooms are nice, the staff is so friendly and helpful, especially Jan, the daytime concierge can help you or answer any of your questions. Jan and the rest of the staff ar so accommodating. The food is top notch. We moved my aunt from the east coast who didn’t want to move from New York. Within the first few days, she said she was so happy and was so glad she made the move. There is even a hair and nail salon right on the premises. The activities are great. Also, the residents who are all so friendly, told my aunt how happy they are and that Sunrise is such a wonderful place to live and she will love it. We feel so lucky to have found the best and most reasonable place for everything your family member needs.

Sunrise La Costa has been an amazing place to live. The community is clean, peaceful, and well-maintained, and the atmosphere truly feels welcoming. What really sets this place apart is the staff—they are incredibly kind, professional, and always willing to help. Anytime I’ve had a question or needed assistance, they’ve been responsive and genuinely caring. It makes a huge difference to live somewhere where the staff clearly takes pride in what they do and treats residents with respect. I highly recommend Sunrise La Costa to anyone looking for a comfortable and positive living experience
