Sumter Senior Living is an excellent facility with an absolutely AMAZING staff!! We placed our Mom, who is an Alzheimer’s patient, there almost a year ago and we are SO glad we did. The nurses are incredible, the nurse assistants and med techs are kind and caring, and the entire staff has made this difficult journey so much easier because of their compassion for the residents and their passion for the good work they do. We know Mom is well cared for, loved, and safe. Additionally, not only do these wonderful folks care for Mom, they have become like family to us. From the Executive Director Mica, to the phenomenal nursing staff led by Nurse T, including Nurses Tammy and Brittany, and all of the techs and CNA’s, you will not find a better team or better people. If you have a loved one in need of assisted living or memory care, we cannot recommend this facility highly enough.

If you’re looking for an Independent living, assisted, living, and memory care for your loved ones, Do not pass Sumter Senior Living. My family’s experience here was exceptional. Miss Mica Gillis, the administrator. She is so attentive and caring with each resident. My God, the nursing team what a great group of women. From Victoria, the wellness director to Brittany, Melanie, Nithira, and the rest of the staff. I think you all so much for doing your job and doing it exceptionally. I cannot express how appreciated my family is to the Sumter place team.

Mother is a resident that was in assisted living and transitioned to memory care. The staff and nurses have been amazing and compassionate, mom is able to age in place there and the MC nurses helped to get hospice set up for her. Emotional roller-coaster that Sumter has helped the family navigate, feel blessed that mom is getting such wonderful care.

My parents were told that if they took the apartment they didn’t want they would be first to get the next 2 bedroom that became available. Which is what they wanted. I was there and was a part of the discussion. A neighbor told them about a 2 bedroom that is available now and going to an external person They asked why they weren’t notified and have since been told by another member of the staff that is not how it works and they are actually last on the list, potential new residents are given priority. This wasn’t a misunderstanding or communication issue it was a bold face lie I don’t believe they can be trusted if this is allowed to happen.
