My mother lives at Story Point in Powell , and I want to recognize Tammy at the front desk — consistently warm, welcoming, and helpful to residents and visitors alike. That kind of dependable, friendly presence really does make a difference. One area for improvement is dining. The dining room staff are kind and hardworking, but the kitchen's processes and menu planning need attention. Food quality is inconsistent and waits can be long — my mother once ordered a toasted English muffin at breakfast that took 45 minutes to arrive and still wasn't toasted. With some work on kitchen workflow and menus, the food could match the warmth of the people serving it.

I am so glad my grandpa was able to move to such an amazing community like Story Point. The transition was so smooth. Most of the staff members that I have encountered are so kind and patient not just with my grandpa but our family too. They do a great job cleaning his room. The food is so good, and we like having lunch with him sometimes. I do believe that he gets good service. The major concern I have is that when I visit him and need help at the desk it is sometimes hard to get Tammy’s attention. There have been times where I have been standing at the desk and she is watching something on her phone or arms deep eating a plate of French toast. When I do get her attention it seems like I’m bothering her or causing an inconvenience, her responses are short and her tone is rude. One time I was having lunch and she was talking to some other residents at the table by us and was speaking so badly about the food and the kitchen employees. It very somewhat off putting. The other girls that sit at the desk are so nice, and so kind when we need something. I’m just surprised that she is the main person you encounter when you come there and most times she does not even acknowledge you when you walk in the door. I do believe that my grandpa’s and our family’s experience should not be defined by one person’s interaction, and I’d love to give a 5 ⭐️ rating, but attention should be given to address this ongoing issue because it’s not the first or 2nd poor experience. But I am hoping it is the last.

I love my mom’s senior living community. The facility is clean, the residents are cared for, and most of the staff are kind, helpful, and welcoming. It gives me peace of mind knowing my mom is there. However, every time I visit, Tammy at the front desk is very rude and disrespectful. My mom has also told me that Tammy makes her feel unwelcome, which is upsetting to hear. A front desk employee is often the first person residents and families interact with, so kindness and professionalism are very important. I hope management addresses this because the rest of the staff and community are wonderful.

My mother (age 81) moved into StoryPoint Powell South Independent living last summer and we are extremely happy with everything about this community. The staff are fantastic - they always greet both visitors and residents with a smile and warm welcome. They are super helpful and get to know the residents and ask about their interests and families. There are lots of activities (and a wide variety) offered to keep the residents active. The facility itself is so bright with lots of open spaces. The apartments are nicely painted and there are multiple floor plans offered. Every time we visit there is a group of residents just hanging out together - this is a place where everyone is welcomed!
