I’ve only been a story point Louisville East for the past six months. There’s been a lot of upheaval with changing and management and so on. We’ve been promised a lot of things by the new management from story point. The only thing is lotta talk no action. Things are going downhill instead of going uphill. The food is food getting worse instead of better if you like cold food for dinner and supper come here you’re bound to get it. Also Also cleaning now cleaning our rooms only happening once every two weeks if you’re lucky. They’re short staffed which doesn’t help. They’re always taking house cleaning staff to work in the cafeteria because I can keep no one there if I could find a place better I’d probably move.

I posted a positive review over 3 years ago & because of things I've heard in the last few years I'm retracting it because Google won't let me delete it. So to clarify, I have not been around in the last 3 years but I still know people (residents & former staff). I would've liked to delete all together but it wasn't an option.

My 95 year old Grandmother has lived at Oxmoor Lodge for nearly 3 years. In that time, everything but the name has changed. It has been sold, is on it's 3rd manager, and there seems to be a revolving door for the rest of the staff as well. Which doesn't give much of a sense of security. The building is nicely maintained for the most part, and they have several activities that my Grandmother enjoys. The biggest problem seems to be the food. Since staffing is a major issue, preparing and serving meals is a constant struggle. Even when half of the employees haven't quit, or called in sick, the food is subpar. This is according to my Grandmother who is fairly independent, and walks down to the dinning room for all 3 meals a day. Frankly, if it were up to me she would move. I've offered to do whatever needs to be done to get her into a place where she would feel more comfortable, and she chooses to give this place chance after chance. There are worse retirement communities I'm sure, but I'm sure that there are also better. UPDATE: 3 Months ago, (2 months after writing my initial review) my Grandmother finally decided to move. No one had cleaned her room in months, and the last time it was vacuumed she said it was because she had to bribe, or, "tip" one of the cleaning staff to do it. The final straw was when someone stole her pain medication. As evidence of how this place is run, the, "owner" finally responded to my review 2 weeks ago. They state in their response that a manger could be spoken to with issues in regards to the food. The funny thing is, Oxmoor Lodge currently doesn't have a manager overseeing anything at this time. Unfortunately, that is because he passed a few weeks before someone responded to my review, and the position still hasn't been filled. I've included a picture of my Grandmother's toilet, taken the day we moved her out. The elderly people in your life deserve better than this.

This is a beautiful senior living community in Louisville that truly allows its residents to maintain their independence and dignity as they age in place. There are always great activities happening and wonderful people to meet on their campus.
