To the Incredible Staff at Somerby Lake Nona and Lilac Trace, On behalf of my entire family, I want to extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude for the extraordinary care, compassion, and warmth you have shown my mother during her transition into Lilac Trace at Somerby Lake Nona. The circumstances that led to her arrival at Somerby Lake Nona were unexpected and emotionally challenging. What was meant to be a short visit to Florida quickly turned into a pivotal moment in our lives. After being admitted to the hospital on a Monday, the same week she and my father were scheduled to return to New York, we were faced with the difficult realization that returning to my home in Orlando or back to New York was no longer the best option. In the midst of this uncertainty, we were blessed to find Somerby Lake Nona. By Friday, as we prepared for her discharge the following day, your team not only had space available but also moved mountains to ensure her transition was as smooth and comforting as possible. When she arrived late Saturday afternoon, the words “Welcome Back” greeted her, not just as a phrase, but as a powerful gesture of familiarity and belonging. Those two words set the tone for everything that followed. From that moment on, every smile, every kind word, and every thoughtful action from your staff helped my mom feel safe, seen, and at home in a place she had never been before. It was nothing short of remarkable. My mother is a strong, lovable, and deeply caring woman, a nurse of over 35 years who dedicated her life to caring for others. Though she now lives with dementia, I know that vibrant, dancing, nurturing spirit is still within her. And thanks to all of you, she is now surrounded by people who reflect the same compassion and dedication she once gave so freely. Knowing she is in your care brings us immense comfort. You have not only provided her with a safe and supportive environment, but you have also given our family peace of mind and hearts full of gratitude. Thank you doesn’t begin to cover the appreciation we feel. You have made what could have been a heartbreaking transition into a journey of hope, dignity, and love.

My family is incredibly grateful for the care and compassion we’ve experienced at Somerby Lake Nona. My mother is in the memory care facility, and my father resides in the independent living community — and we truly could not be happier with the level of support they’re both receiving, physically, mentally, and emotionally. As caregivers, this has been a major transition for our family. I had to learn how to separate being a daughter from being a caregiver, and my father had to navigate the difficult journey of separating the role of husband from caregiver. The team at Somerby has embraced each of us — not just my parents, but our entire family — with an incredible amount of patience, empathy, and love. The facilities are pristine, the staff is consistently compassionate and responsive, and there’s a clear commitment to the well-being of every resident. From the thoughtfully planned activities to the nutritional care and personalized attention, every detail is handled with care and professionalism. We toured multiple locations in both New York and Florida, and Somerby stood out by far. It’s rare to find a place so well-run and warm — and for anyone exploring the next step for their loved ones, Somerby Lake Nona is an absolute must-see.

Visiting Somerby is a joy. There are often residents enjoying the outdoor seating and the moment you walk through the doors there is a fresh scent unlike other communities I have visited. The staff have always warmly greeted me with a smile. I participated in the recent family night and we had so much fun laughing and singing together. Somerby is one of my favorite places to visit!

Beautiful facility with wonderful care. My parents moved there out of extinuating circumstances. My mother in memory care and dad in assisted living. But the experience has been wonderful. Mom loves the Lilac Trace staff and we feel safe with my parents there. The rooms are very spacious.
