Few things feel lonelier than caring for someone with dementia. When I realized I could no longer safely care for my mom at home, I started a deep dive into researching memory care communities. I am so grateful my search led me to Silverado Beach Cities. I felt seen and supported the moment I walked in. The two main reasons that I chose Silverado for my mom are 1) the staff and 2) the Nexus program, which is geared toward high-functioning residents. In addition to providing excellent care for my mom, the Nexus staff also makes time to support me. Everything about the decision to move my mom was difficult, but the one thing I never doubt is that she is getting the best possible care and support. A massive shout-out to Peter, Campbell, Jessica, Eli, Clara, Lourdes, Teresa, Nancy, Noc, Jazmin, Ana, Lana, Laurie, Elizabeth, Doreen, Jean, and all of the staff. And, of course, Honey, the resident bulldog.

I can’t sing the praises of Silverado Beach Cities highly enough. Every staff member has been educated in memory care and treat the residents with dignity and respect. They offer a wide variety of engaging activities and experiences specifically designed to slow down memory loss, while making it fun. Life is celebrated at Silverado. Holidays (both big and small), birthdays, anniversaries and more are celebrated with delicious food and over the top festive decorations. The facilities are immaculate and well maintained. The staff is very approachable by family members regarding questions and concerns for their loved ones. I could go on and on, but most importantly my mom is happy living at Silverado. After sharing the caretaker roll with my brother, I am once again her daughter and it’s a joy!

Moving my father into memory care was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but the wonderful staff made our transition as comfortable as possible. These caregivers are gifts from God. What they gave us was not only comfort of knowing our dad was safe and well cared for but even moreso, they gave my brother and me joyful visits with our dad. We are left with happy memories, not the negative ones that were part of daily life before bringing him to Silverado. These happy, loving memories with our dad are the ones that stick with us and will stay with us forever. Thank you all for this gift. You are so very special. With gratitude & appreciation, Lisa Zimmermann & Mike Mangiameli

I’m very thankful for a place like Silverado! I was looking for a place for my mom where she would be well cared for, where there were engaging activities, wonderful and friendly staff, and a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. I found that in Silverado. The staff are all very kind. This includes everyone! They are good about knowing my mom and her needs and how best to address or redirect her. All the residents are “seen” and “known” which makes them feel special. This is so important for everyone, especially for those advancing in years! My mom has lived at Silverado for a year now and calls it “home”.
