Our family moved my mother into Sierra Del Sol this week. Leah Montgomery and Anne were excellent and the whole process was easy, professional and quick. Ruben also was such a nice guy that helped us see models. It"s a beautiful facility and the residents were so happy and friendly. Very nicely decorated, high end chairs, plentiful bathrooms, theatre, library, medical, hair salon and wonderful dining facility with a robot delivering food, so cool. Definitely an impressive, professional facility, yet down to earth staff makes even visitors feel like they are home! As a result, I feel my mom is in great hands with Sierra del Sol staff, which was important for our family. Thank you! My mom's view is wonderful!!

Having a loved one admitted to assistant living is very overwhelming. Leah was phenomenal helping me navigate the process and immediately put me at ease. Everyone else I've met has been so friendly and helpful. Choosing Sierra del Sol was the best decision for my family.

I had to move a friend into Sierra Del Sol when she started decling from her alzheimers. Leah was great at having us navigate getting her moved into the facility. I never knew there was so much red tape involved moving into an assisted living facility, but it all worked out thanks to Leah guiding us on what needed done. My friend is adapting very well and I am so happy she is now in a safe place.

At first, Sierra del Sol was GREAT! Very informative and helpful with my grandfather who has dementia. He originally was going to be in the assisted living side, but due to him being a flight risk, it was recommended to have him placed in the memory care side. Which my husband and I agreed. For the first half of his year stay here, it was a good experience. When he got sick around Christmas, the staff was amazing with him on the around the clock care as he recovered. Then after that is when my good experience went down the drain.. Unfortunately, he became aggressive and got into a few altercations where they called me each time, to go out and help de-escalate the issue. Or they would call the police and/or send him to the hospital to “get him out of the facility.” At first, I thought these were normal procedures until we had to tour other facilities and found out this is not normal as this is one of the unfortunate symptoms of the disease. Due to his altercations, he was about to be kicked out of the facility. So my husband and I had to look for a new facility for him, AGAIN. Along with this headache, when my sister was visiting from out of town in February, she called the staff and asked what time lunch was because she wanted to take him lunch. They told her it was noon, which when she called was around 11:30am. She told the staff member on the phone that if she wasn’t there within an hour to please feed him, as she had other errands to run and wasn’t sure if she would make it before the end of lunch. She arrived around 2:30pm and he was finishing up eating. My Grandfather told my sister that they barely fed him for the day just 15 minutes before. He didn’t have breakfast because he was “too late” to get some when he got up. While they were chatting there was a few staff members nearby listening in. Once he mentioned not being fed, they decided to “get back to work.” At which, my sister spoke up and asked who she spoke to in the morning. Reiterated the conversation with said employee and told them she would be letting me know about this. At move out, there was no assist on keeping my grandfather preoccupied while my family and I loaded his belongings. I tried to look for the head nurse, Keelani, once we had his stuff loaded up and couldn’t find her to talk to her one final time. I didn’t want to wait around for however long, so I decided to leave. The new facility said that my grandfather had to have a twin bed per state law, which at Sierra a queen sized bed was donated to him. I let the Resident Services Coordinator know by email prior to move out date, we will not be taking the bed, and the response was, “ Okay, no worries. I’m sure we can find a good home for it.” Fast forward to two days shy of two weeks after he has moved, I received an email from Carisa the Resident Services Coordinator stating that we have to remove the bed as it is our property, and there will be a daily rental fee for as long as the bed is there. We could kindly remove it or pay a $100 + breakdown fee to have the maintenance team to remove it. I emailed back stating we will not be going to remove the bed and any charges added for the bed will be disputed as this was not an agreement prior to the moving date. I have yet to hear back from them on this. Will update if needed. At first, I recommended Sierra del Sol to anyone who was looking to place a loved one during a difficult time, but now that has changed. This facility who claims to specialize in memory care, needs some much needed training on how to handle dementia patients. I usually do not care for leaving bad reviews but this one I felt I needed to.
