Shurmer Place

No one can say that any assisted living facility is absolutely perfect. Unless you have personally experienced caring for the elderly, I do not believe you can possibly know how difficult it can be. My experience with Shurmer Place in Strongsville is that THIS facility is as close to perfect as it can get. The management team, the nursing team and assisted living staff do everything possible to make the residents feel at home. There are too many amenities to list in this review. I will minimize it by saying Shurmer Place offers a wide range of options for its residents to enjoy. Food service in Shurmer Place is by far the best you could hope for. The culinary staff does everything they can to keep the balance between healthy and tasty. I would recommend Shurmer Place to anyone looking to place their loved ones in an assisted living facility. If you are in that stage of life, you are probably going crazy with options. Be sure to check out Shurmer Place, you will be surprised at what you get for your money. Spacious rooms and a dedicated staff to make your loved ones feel more like being at home .

My parents lived together at Shurmer Place for almost 2 years until my dad passed and my mom had a stroke. The love, compassion, and care given to my parents by the staff was AMAZING! We had to clear out their apartment this week and as we did, aides, nurses and the director all hugged us, cried, and told us it was an honor to take care of our parents. The director took my calls and concerns on weekends and even on her vacation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, safe, loving atmosphere for their parents. Shurmer Place is a GEM!

My grandma has been at Shurmer for a couple years and I have to say that while she was (naturally) nervous at first about making the move she has since completely become at home. Nobody wants to feel like they cannot maintain their independence but at Shurmer I really think that they provide an environment that allows its residents to do exactly that; but they also provide its residents and their families with a peace of mind. Everything from the activities they offer to how friendly, helpful, informative and attentive the staff is, are all reasons Grandma is still here and happy! I can’t tell you how many times other family members have come to visit and had questions, comments or concerns that were immediately and helpfully addresses by the director (who has always been available to myself, family and Grandma). I can’t sing Shurmer’s praises enough. Thank you guys

It's a wonderful place for our mother. You couldn't ask for better care. The staff very caring, their rooms are kept very clean and meals are nutritious.
