My father was a resident at Serra Sol from September 2024 to January 2025. Serra Sol is a beautifully decorated and very clean memory care facility. The staff is incredibly friendly; I never heard a single complaint when I asked a caregiver for help with my father. They treated him as if he were their own father. Throughout the five months, I never experienced anything negative from the staff or the facility. The staff keeps the residents engaged during the day with a variety of activities. They even organize special events for the families of the residents, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and other holiday celebrations. I regularly joined my father for meals, and the food was both delicious and healthy. They encourage you to visit your loved one as often as you want, which allowed me to spend a lot of quality time with my father. Even though my father has passed away, I plan to stop by from time to time to say hello to the staff and some of the residents I had the privilege of getting to know. I highly recommend Serra Sol to anyone looking for a memory care facility.

It is not an easy decision to pick a facility for the loved one because we don't know what is going through their mind during the transition. When we sending our children to kindergarten they get to come home and tell us stories or what happened but not the case for seniors - they are the most vulnerable silenced group after the lifelong contribution to the society. So my point to the family members is to focus on: - Comfort level in the facility - Never lose sight of the management team's dedication and professionalism. - Let go of unintentional small stuffs that could happen at home instead focus of the quality of care in general. - Timely notice on incidents - big and small so we as facility can participate in monitoring measures. My husband is new to the facility and I am adjusting the change just like him so far, I feel good about my decision and try to do my best to communicate with the Med-Tech team so the team can learn more about my husband. I found this is very helpful and the team is extremely responsible and following my instructions which is a win win situation for all.

DON’T I repeat Don’t put your spouse or loved one here! I put my husband in Nov 1, 2024 & REMOVED him Dec 18,2024 . They tell you everything you want to hear on the tour of the facility once you get in and sign the contract and pay $8000 a month and then after your spouse is there and realize he’s not getting the care that was told he would be getting! Was told it would be one caregiver per eight patients after being there going almost every day to see my husband, realizing he wasn’t being showered, brought it to their attention. Also, he wasn’t being hydrated enough, brought it to their attention with the director and also the wellness director who tells you they’ll take care of it And nothing is done! Also day after Thanksgiving, I go to see my husband at 1:30 in the afternoon. Find out he was left in his room with no breakfast and no lunch. He was shaking because his sugar level was low. I asked the aid who is supposed to be taking care of him what happened Was told that short staffed because of the Thanksgiving weekend I said that’s not acceptable brought it to the attention of the director and the wellness director. Found out recently they have 112% change of staff in one year. There are some aids there that are wonderful but they can’t keep up. Since it’s one caregiver to 12 to 15 patients, I would do my husband‘s laundry and still clothes were missing from his room brought this to the attention of the director. I noticed my husband declining I decided to remove him and he is in a home Boarding Care being so well taken care of Only six people in the home he’s gained weight. He’s being monitored medically and interacting with the other patients he was isolated so many times at Serra Sol. It was a very difficult decision to put my husband with his dementia in a facility, which was supposed to be a transition for me and him, and it turned out to be horrible. I could not live with myself, knowing he was not being taken care of what was promised to me. This may will be married 50 years and now I feel he’s being taken care of the way I was taking care of him for the last four years on my own I could not live with my conscious without letting people know how Serra Sol operates. It’s a shame it’s beautiful The facility The caregivers are not trained properly how to deal with dementia patients

As a hospice Chaplain, having visited many memory care facilities over the past 22 years, this is by far the best in my opinion! Every time I come by the staff is engaged, those residing at this facility are always involved in some type of activity, and if there’s ever a need that any one of these precious residents have the staff is there immediately to provide the assistance that they need. When I visit, the staff are always attentive to my needs as well helping to orient me to the residents’ rooms or where they might be at any given time. And that attentiveness begins right there at the front door. Serra Sol truly defines the difference between ordinary and extraordinary, always doing that little extra which, for those that they serve, makes all the difference In their day! They definitely live up to their name, Serra Sol…”House of Sunshine”!
