MOST - MAJORITY - Scenic Hills staff, on a personal and professional level, have been so very kind, caring and compassionate to and with my mom in the last 3 years that she has resided there. However, there is frequent turnover in staff. Occasionally mom/we run into some unsavory conduct/conditions (not getting medication on time, medical assistance is not always prompt, cleaning conditions in her personal bathroom and living quarters are neglected - possibly due to being short staffed and overworked). However, mom LOVES it there, loves the majority of staff (aides, nurses, activities personnel, dining area assistants, housekeeping, etc.) that take the time to talk to her and pay attention to her and her needs while performing their job duties, and mom would not want to be anywhere else.

Scenic Hills at the Monastery is more than just a long term care facility. This past weekend my loved one was granted his Live A Dream, a Trilogy mission. Due to a recommendation from one of his caregivers, my loved one was granted his dream of attending a Salem Speedway race. Not only was my love one able to go but the facility organized for all of my loved one’s children and grandchildren to attend! My loved one is truly treated as a family member at Scenic Hills and not just another body in a bed. It’s never easy to make the decision to send your loved one to a facility but there is no other facility I would choose for mine.

My family member does adult day stays at Scenic Hills. They are always greeted with a smile and called by name, which is very welcoming! Staff are very helpful and accommodating. The facility is impeccable, bright, and open. The food is good and food service staff are interactive. We can't imagine a better place or better people to provide care.
