I do not recommend this agency at all. As a health care worker who works with individuals who are not fully coherent of what they are doing, and not to mention, others around them, is disgusting. As someone who has family within this facility and is aware of how their treatments are administered, it needs to be investigated immediately. The company needs to be shut down immediately.

We checked my mom in here for rehabilitation after losing a lot of strength from getting sick (stroke patient of 3 years). We checked her in & discharged her within 7hrs. She was placed at the end of the hallway where nobody ever came to check on her, her call light was on for 45mins before someone (the PT) even came. Thankfully it was only for more blankets as she was cold but I couldn’t imagine had she fallen or needed serious help. Nobody came by or checked on her in 3hrs after her OT and CNA left. She is a high fall risk patient so she needs proper supervision and help with getting up or going to the bathroom. Her CNA suggested she can wheel herself down for meals and when I mentioned she isn’t strong enough to do so she said she could push her call button and that “maybe someone can come get her then”. She also was not offered lunch or dinner when the times came and the CNA also mentioned she has to get her food in the dining hours, which my mom is not always awake or understanding lately so leaving her hungry is not appropriate or acceptable when she’s trying to regain strength. We were told staffing is short which we sympathize but there was not enough care that we felt comfortable leaving my sweet mother here. The one good thing we did experience were the therapists, both her PT and OT were great we just wish the living conditions otherwise were up to par.

I’m so incredibly grateful for the staff at Riverside. They do a wonderful job taking care of my mother. She is very happy. I couldn’t have asked for a better place.

Suzette Summers has this to say about Riverside Health and Rehabilitation as she has experienced Hillside rehabilitation center as well. The layout of this building deems it greatly approachable. The people that work here have patience beyond bounds, helpful and all are aimiable. The problem with riverside is all the medical personnelle are spread way too thin, thus patients are not receiving the care they need. People are not properly taken care of because caretakers do not have time. People that are dying are not comforted, simply because personnel does not have the time in their schedules to cover the floors and all the people. I was here 5 years ago after open heart surgery. I value the comparison and things appear to be different. The quality of certain services is lacking. The food is one of them and I realize budgets play a great part in this. Riverside’s name is floundering, Village’s name is questionable, Hillside’s name is becoming dirt and I have no experience regarding Hamilton’s facilities. Beforehand I thank you for you considering into these matters. Respecfully submitted, Suzette Summers
