My mother stayed here for a month to get rehab from a fall after she broke her pelvis and hand. She got very little rehab. I was there the first week and 1/2 almost the entire day and all she was doing was laying in bed. I called the director of nursing Becky and told her this was supposed to be a rehab facility I’m tired of seeing my mom laying in bed all day. I had to go back to work and it was pretty much the same, she was laying in bed, occasionally she’d be sitting in a wheelchair. Also she fell 3 times while there, the very first night she got there was the first, then two other times that I know. There were some great nurses and aides but also some really bad ones, like the aide that told my mom just to led in her pants when I told her she needed to use the bathroom. So many bad things, as the PT that told her that her walking was hopeless, that crushed my mom. So many other things, but don’t have the space. They released my mom even though she couldn’t sit up, stand, or use the bathroom on her own, then I said how can you do that?! They said she’s not improving so Medicare is releasing her, but you can keep her here and pay privately. I couldn’t believe it. I said I’d take my mom home, Elizabeth said she needs 24 hr care, I said I’ll figure it out. When I got the release papers was shocked that it said the patient’s health had improved sufficiently so the patient no longer needs the services provided by the nursing facility. All I know that my mom was independent and found do everything before the fall and going in to River Point, she came out not able to walk anymore or drink much if anything. With home health she has greatly improved but has to walk with a walker and her feet have not healed yet, from my opinion because she was left to lay in bed there most all day. I know some people have had good experiences here, but for my mom and family it was awful.

I rehabbed there for several months and went from an hoyer lift to a wheelchair and it was a mixed experience. I could tell 2-3 bad stories and 2-3 good stories so I would rate it as 3 stars. We were thankful they are in town for care needs.

I have visited my Aunt the past 2 weeks and I am so impressed with Riverpointe. There is such a positive atmosphere the minute you walk in the door. The staff and residents are all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. You hear laughter and happy conversation. The building is beautiful and brightly decorated. The room and sitting rooms are bright and cheerful. What a wonderful place.

My sister has happily resided at River Pointe for 5 years. She is happy and this makes us happy. She loves her staff and kitchen staff so much, she is a joker and they all joke with her regularly. I love that she jas friends and the staff call me by name. Great place.
