I repeated raised concerns to administration of abuse and neglect of my loved one as well as what I witnessed with other residents. Rather than work to get those issues corrected, Porter Place continued to pressure me to put him into hospice. After a short hospital stay, he was ready for release. The hospital confirmed that he was in the same condition as prior to the hospital stay based on what Porter Place submitted to them. The director of nursing assured me via text after I asked if I needed to worry about finding him a new facility, "No that's not what I'm saying , I just have to reassess residents before they return after a significant event or if there's a long hospital stay." During this time, the ED refused to communicate in writing or answer my questions. Repeatedly telling that she would only speak over the phone which seemed obviously very sneaky. After they completed multiple assessments over several days of leaving him in the hospital, Porter Place refused his readmission. They're currently refusing to refund for the entire month that they refused to take him back as well as an overpayment that was already in his account. I have reached out to the BBB for assistance. The attorney for Porter Place called me accidentally thinking that I was the BBB. She stated she felt that my signing of the HIPPA release was in violation of HIPPA. (I am the POA and handled everything at Porter Place) I'm just not understanding why Porter Place would be withholding medical information unless that information might hurt their case...

Dad has been a resident for 6 months and he has flourished! Everyone is friendly and eager to help. The new Director is phenomenal, very receptive and communicative. They have family nights monthly which is great for the entire family to enjoy and visit as a family. Very clean and they just finished remodeling..it’s beautiful!

I have had my husband at Porter Place for 7 years. The staff takes very good care of him especially Tamika. She is patient, kind and does a little bit extra to make both my husband and myself feel comfortable. The staff is very quick to respond to my concerns which is very important to me.

My loved one has been at Porter Place a few years. I feel very comfortable that she’s well cared for. I like the staff and am thankful for a good quality home for her since I can no longer do it myself. I do understand that private pay facilities come at a premium price. Peace of mind means a lot to me.
