I lived here for about a year and a half when it was Brookdale Senior Living, and it was truly a wonderful place to call home. The residents were warm and welcoming, the staff was always caring, friendly, and helpful, and there was a real sense of community. I have many fond memories of my time there and would highly recommend Pegasus Preserve of Memorial City to anyone looking for a comfortable and supportive senior living community.

I rate this beautiful community as a Star five. The Brookdale Memorial City team cultivates a independent living like none other. I am writing to formally report serious concerns regarding a bed bug infestation and the lack of appropriate response and care for residents at your facility. Over a period of time, residents have experienced repeated bed bug exposure, resulting in visible bites, discomfort, and distress. Despite notifying staff, the response has been delayed, inconsistent, and insufficient to properly resolve the issue. Bed bugs are not only a hygiene concern but a health and safety risk, particularly for elderly residents who may have compromised immune systems or limited ability to advocate for themselves. Key concerns include: *Delayed or inadequate pest control measures, allowing the infestation to persist *Failure to properly isolate or treat affected rooms and belongings *Lack of communication with residents and families about the scope of the issue *Insufficient monitoring of affected residents, including failure to ensure their comfort and well-being *Emotional and physical distress caused by ongoing exposure This situation reflects a failure to maintain safe and sanitary living conditions, which is a fundamental obligation for any senior living provider. Residents deserve to live in a clean, secure environment free from preventable hazards. Requested Immediate Actions: I am requesting the following actions be taken without delay: *Engage a licensed, professional pest control service to fully assess and eradicate the infestation *Provide clear communication to residents and families regarding the issue and remediation plan *Implement preventative protocols to avoid recurrence *Ensure proper care, monitoring, and accommodations for affected residents *Conduct a facility-wide inspection to confirm the issue has been fully resolved If this matter is not addressed promptly and effectively, I am prepared to escalate the complaint to the appropriate regulatory authorities, including the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and the Long-Term Care Ombudsman.
