My Mom is a resident at Nikkei Manor and she absolutely loves it! There are lots of activities, good food, and most importantly a caring and attentive staff. Highly recommend!

As a Senior Care Coordinator, I have had the opportunity to work with many seniors living in assisted living communities throughout the greater Seattle area. To my knowledge, Nikkei Manor is the only senior living community in the area that offers authentic Japanese home-style meals and Japanese-speaking staff, making it an invaluable resource for Japanese-speaking older adults and their families. Nikkei Manor stands out for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and its genuine commitment to supporting the Japanese and Japanese American community. One of my clients, who has mild dementia, truly enjoys living there and often tells me, "The Japanese home-style meals are delicious, and they always give me plenty to eat!" Seeing that kind of happiness and comfort speaks volumes. Having familiar Japanese dishes every day provides not only good nutrition but also a sense of comfort and home. I especially appreciate working with Laura, the Health Services Director, and the nursing team. They consistently keep me informed about my client's health and daily well-being, making communication seamless and giving me confidence that my client is receiving attentive, compassionate care. Amy, the Director, is also wonderful to work with. She is always approachable, takes the time to understand each resident's individual needs, and is genuinely committed to finding solutions that best support both residents and their families. As someone who advocates for older adults and their families, I truly appreciate having a community like Nikkei Manor available. Oftentimes first impressions have the biggest impact on me. When our family was considering assisted living arrangements for our dear mother, our first choice was Nikkei Manor, for a number of reasons. Its reputation, the quality of its services and the restaurant quality food. We were welcomed to the home by Tarris Batiste who provided the foundation of our experience. He was hands on available and responsive to a myriad of questions and concerns, and always available with a helping hand. He really streamlined the admissions process for our mother Barbara, with genuine understanding, exuberance and a make things happen attitude. He provided a very warm Aloha introduction to us through the front door to Nikkei Manor. I was overwhelmed how well the admission process went and pleasantly comforted by the genuine kindness and support of staff, from nursing to the dining room to the mechanical operations and reception desk. We instantly felt welcomed! In this day and age, it was rare and most noteworthy. We were very impressed, well appointed accommodations, a delightful lunch with friendly staff and residents and a game of bingo to top off the afternoon. This experience confirms our decision to place our mother in the hands of their care going forward. They offer genuine consideration, care and respect for family, especially towards mom, who deserves the very best in her golden years. My parents have been residents for 4 years at Nikkei Manor. I can't say enough about how great the staff have been caring for my parents. The nurses have been top rate and the RA's are very empathic, compassionate, and very friendly. Nikkei Manor is a unique place that provides culturally appropriate care for senior citizens of Japanese descent. Highly recommended!
