The building is gorgeous and with so many beautiful amenities. The food is good, the dining staff are incredibly patient & kind. The front desk staff are very friendly. This is a great place for residents who are independent or who have outside care coming in. I moved my sister in because she originally needed help with bathing, laundry, and 24 hr response in case she fell. Many times, no one would ever show up to provide those services. When they did, it was after 9pm when my sister was sleeping and they'd write in their notes that she "refused the service offered". There were multiple times when she needed help and pressed her pendant and no one ever came. There were times I searched in the building for over an hour looking for someone to help after pressing the button and I found no one. I insisted on a care conference to discuss these issues and there was a temporary improvement but with all of the staff changes in the building, the message wasn't delivered consistently. Except for the front desk staff & dining staff, I felt like no one ever knew my sister or I after being there for 2 years. Unless I was there in front of someone, I couldn't get anything addressed because many calls & messages were not responded to. Philip, the RN was always kind but clearly overwhelmed with what was probably more care than what they are equipped to provide. A key fob was issued to one of the caregivers from the outside agency we hired without my sister & my knowledge or authorization. I provided feedback multiple times to corporate with no response. My sister eventually ended up needing a lot more care than what the community could provide anyhow, and we brought in an agency to help her and then eventually moved her to a private residential care facility. When she initially arrived and when she left, there was hardly a welcome, a goodbye or acknowledgement from the leadership staff. It feels a lot more like a hotel than it does a home.

This is a beautiful building with nice amenities. There are some wonderful people who always welcome visitors with a smile. That is where the positive experience at New Perspective Arden Hills ends. The month my dad spent living there was an absolute nightmare. He was forced into memory care and at the highest level of care despite it being totally inappropriate. Their own assessment nurse disagreed with this placement, but the Director of Nursing overrode her assessment. My dad was spat on by a resident and had personal property destroyed including $1000 glasses. There was not a single day during his stay in which his care plan was actually followed. We filed multiple grievances with the facility which went largely ignored. At our first care conference, the director of nursing walked out in a huff after being called out for knowing nothing of my dad. I brought up to him on a nearly daily basis that the care plan wasn’t being followed. His response was “I talked to the staff this morning, I don’t know what to tell you.” I asked the nurse about all the weight my dad seemed to be gaining. He said it was fine…until a 3rd party insisted my dad go via ambulance to the hospital. My dad had gained 42lbs in 4 weeks under the watchful eye of this facility. The neglect was so pronounced that multiple social workers and nurses at the hospital and transitional care advised that it would be unsafe to allow my dad to return to this facility. When we had a meeting with the Executive Director, we were informed that this was quality care that any of the administrators would absolutely subject their loved ones to. Be better than them, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PUT A LOVED ONE INTO THIS BUILDING. I could include even more about how despite my dad being out of the building for 6 weeks, they are still charging him for medications and cares and allowed other residents to toss his room after he left, but that pales in comparison to the rest of the experience.

Brand new beautiful modern. They have a pool and a workout room. Would be wonderful if they could get like a fitness center activity employee that could have regular classes like yoga or swim aerobics, chair aerobics, to have a personal trainer available to encourage seniors to stay motivated and active.
