MorningStar of Boise is an exceptional senior living community. Our relative has been residing here almost 3 years now, and has consistently been treated with compassion, dignity, grace and love. The entire team (Executive Director, Business Manager, Community Relations, Wellness team, dining team, concierge and activities coordinator) work seamlessly and selflessly to ensure a daily positive experience for each of their residents. As family members, we receive regular and timely communication pertinent to our relative, along with any community information that is relevant. The atmosphere is welcoming, comfortable and really feels like home. There are plenty of amenities and activities for residents to enjoy. We worked closely with the MorningStar of Boise Community Relations Director for over a year in advance of needing to move our relative to a senior community with assisted living, while also touring other facilities in the Boise area. We ultimately chose MorningStar of Boise and are grateful we did!

It was a difficult time for all of us, not just Mom. Scary even. There were plenty of unknowns and as plenty of options in our community that would've adequately served her residential needs. But my family was not searching for adequate. We were searching for excellent and that's what we found at Morningstar. We found bright and big and airy apartments. Fresh and yummy menu options. An expansive and peaceful campus for outdoor strolls. Daily activity schedules including live music and classic films. Arts and crafts and outings. And a staff of dedicated individuals all of whom regularly greet me with a grin and a 'good day' and a 'how's your mom?' While I'm here I'll take the opportunity to mention and thank our intake person, Lindsey, who impressed us all with her professionalism, tact, humor, understanding, and support. Eased all of our minds with her knowledge of the system, and her efforts to secure Mom a beautiful apartment. She's continued to offer her support and assistance - invaluable in this transition time. So, here's five stars. Wish it could be fifty.

MorningStar Senior Living Independent and Assisted Living has truly been a blessing for our family. I started noticing changes in my parents, who were then 84 and 87 years old at the time. I started researching and visiting senior living communities, and MorningStar quickly rose to the top of my list. I put our name on their waiting list in 2022 hoping that when the time came, they would have availability. After my mother suffered a fall in her home in 2024, she decided she did not want to return home. I immediately contacted MorningStar and was so grateful they had a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment available for her. My father initially insisted he was not moving, but the reality was he did not grocery shop, cook, or even know how to do laundry. When the movers arrived to move my mother’s belongings, he surprised us all by saying they should take his things too. My parents first moved into the independent living community. The facility itself is beautiful, but what truly makes MorningStar special is the caring and compassionate staff. From management, maintenance, cooks and servers, housekeepers, nurses, and caregivers — everyone we encountered has been friendly, patient, and genuinely attentive to the residents’ needs. Independent living gave my parents comfort, privacy, and a strong sense of community. There were many other couples living there, and my parents quickly developed friendships and routines they loved. The food was excellent, with many menu options available throughout the day. This worked perfectly for my parents, who were never early breakfast eaters but were always ready for lunch around 11:00 a.m. There were also many opportunities for activities and socializing, including happy hour with beer and wine on Thursdays, live entertainment, card games, arts and crafts, puzzles, bingo, and much more. Unfortunately, my mother later suffered another fall that resulted in a brain bleed, and her care needs became greater than MorningStar could provide. She had to move to a memory care facility, and my father insisted on moving with her. Sadly, my mother passed away just three days after we moved Dad there. Due to my mother’s needs Dad moved out of MorningStar for a short period of time. Dad did not know anyone at the new facility, and he deeply missed the friends, staff, and sense of community he had at MorningStar. We returned to MorningStar and explained the situation, and they went out of their way to help get Dad moved back. We brought him back for a visit before the move, and it was incredible to see both residents and staff greet him with hugs and warm welcomes. At that moment, I realized that at 90 years old, it was only a matter of time before he would need assisted living support. The assisted living team has been wonderful, offering excellent care while always treating Dad with dignity and respect. He is very independent and struggles to ask for help, but the staff has been incredibly patient and attentive. He now lives in a beautiful one-bedroom apartment and is learning how to live without my mother, whom he met when she was 15 years old and was married for 69 years. Since my mother's passing staff has truly kept a close eye on Dad, and our family is so thankful for the care, compassion, and support they continue to provide. It gives us peace of mind knowing he is safe, valued, and surrounded by kindness every day. We are incredibly grateful for Morningstar Senior Living and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality independent or assisted living options for their loved ones.
