My mother was at Morningstar Senior Assisted Living in Beaverton for a short time before she passed away recently. She was hesitant to leave her home, especially after repeated trips to the hospital and rehab but understood she needed to be in a facility with 24/7 care. Mom realized soon after arriving at Morningstar she was not in a hospital or rehab type setting, but rather a more home-like clean and organized atmosphere which we truly believe made her more comfortable and allowed her to pass away peacefully. Everybody on staff including front desk receptionist/greeter Heidi, CRA Lesa, RN Emily, SS Magen, and many others cared and treated her and our family with dignity and respect and none of us ever felt discouraged from visiting, but rather encouraged to do so. I highly recommend Morningstar of Beaverton, particularly if your loved one prefers to stay at a home away from home in their final days where they will be properly cared for and kept comfortable. DS

Although we chose to place my elderly parents at Morningstar at Laurelhurst, Lesa went above and beyond our expectations in explaining the care residents receive and led us through the tour of the facilities and activities offered at Morningstar at Beaverton. The model rooms are beautifully presented and the one-month free rent was very enticing! We highly recommend anyone who is looking for Assisted or Memory Care units to consider Morningstar!

The staff has been really helpful to my family. Stephen and Emily have really gone above and beyond to make the transition for my parents smooth. It is such a relief to know that my parents are well taken care of and safe.

I have extensively researched numerous long-term care options for my parent. I also have several family friends with parents currently residing at this facility, and their independent warnings all point to the exact same dangerous reality: this facility operates as a predatory, profit-first business rather than a legitimate care provider. Every aspect of this organization makes it clear that the resident is viewed merely as a price tag, not an individual deserving of dignity and safety. 1. Verifiable Public Records and State Closures You do not have to take my word for it—the state’s public health inspection reports speak for themselves. If you look up this facility's official state review, you will find a staggering history of non-compliance. The public records detail an unacceptable number of severe citations and show that the state has actually stepped in and shut this facility down multiple times over the past few years due to safety and care violations. This is a documented, recurring pattern of negligence. 2. Gross Management Incompetence The Executive Director demonstrates a profound lack of operational knowledge and completely lacks the temperament, empathy, or professional ethics required to run a care home. Under their leadership, the facility functions as a corporate scam designed to maximize revenue while minimizing actual care. It is completely devoid of a "heart-first" culture. 3. A Culture of Bullying and Staff Retaliation There is a pervasive culture of indifference from the frontline staff all the way up to the management team. Bullying, emotional distress, and blatant disrespect toward vulnerable residents are actively tolerated. Most alarmingly, the Executive Director has reportedly instructed care staff that they are permitted to "fight back" if they feel challenged by a resident. Encouraging physical or verbal retaliation against elderly residents—many of whom suffer from cognitive decline—is not only deeply unethical, but it also creates an actively hostile, dangerous, and volatile environment. Conclusion: This facility is an unsafe, poorly managed liability. If you are seeking a secure, compassionate, and protective environment for your loved ones, look elsewhere. Placing a family member here poses a severe, documented risk to their safety, health, and basic human rights.
