I’ve worked in assisted living/memory care for over 10 years and after relocating to the valley I was hired here. I cannot even express how rude and unprofessional most of my coworkers were and how short staffed they were all the time. I’d have to wait an hour or more sometimes after my shift waiting for the next shift to come in whenever they felt like it and same with coming to work being the only one on the floor until someone else decided to show up which was unfair to residents who pay for the services they are suppose to provide 24/7. How management treats employees plays a main factor in the care these loved ones receive and I was appalled and left maybe two months after being hired. It was sad to see how these residents were treated and the care they were denied due to lack of staff and lack of competence. Everywhere else I worked management would be more than happy to jump in and help the nursing staff and here they were hardly ever seen they never got up to help and never offered. Truly unfortunate for the few good caregivers and the residents who ultimately suffer.

Please read this review before you sign the paperwork to move your mother or father into Morningstar at Golden Ridge. I hope you find it very helpful when making your decision. It is a real eye opening to what really goes on at Morningstar at Golden Ridge. My mom moved into Morningstar at Golden Ridge in 2022. At first glance the facility looked new and clean. Everyone was friendly and they were eager to tell me about everything they offered to residences. The room my mom was in was manageable for her and the day/night staff took great care of my mom. Thanks to all the workers who took care of my mom, you are amazing people. Unfortunately, my mom’s health started to go down some and she was working on getting her balance and strength back with physical therapy. She was able to move around with a walker but sometimes needed help. The facility always seemed to be short staffed so sometimes she waited 30-60 minutes for assisted. This is a long time for an elderly person to wait to use the bathroom or go down to the dining room. On the night my mom fell in her room, I was NEVER called by Morningstar at Golden Ridge to let me know she had fallen. I was NEVER called to asked if I wanted her to go to the hospital to be checked out. In fact, my mom texted me the next day to let me know she fallen during the night and was in pain. That morning, when I arrived at my mom’s room, and I went to talk to Nicole the head nurse. When I asked Nicole why she didn’t call me that night she said that “she didn’t want to wake me up at 3:30am to let me know she fallen.” I was so beyond upset that nobody had called me that night or even the next day. THIS IS 100% UNACCEPTABLE. Kerri Felix the executive director stopped by the room to let me know she was sorry that they didn’t call me. I felt she was a required to make this statement to cover herself and the facility. She even stated that “nothing gets done fast in this facility and I should accept that.” What a statement coming from the person in charge of the daily running of Morningstar at Golden Ridge. I think that Morningstar at Golden Ridge, could be a nice, assisted living facility for anyone’s parents but not until Kerri and Nicole are held responsible and severe actions are taken regarding my mom’s fall. Shame on you ladies for your neglect to my mom and my family.
