As one can imagine, the journey a family goes through to find a place for their loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s is a difficult task. Making sure we did our due diligence to locate the right place for our family matriarch, we visited nine different locations. We toured facilities in both Florida and Colorado as we have homes in both states. Morningstar was one of our last visits. From the minute we entered the facility we felt like this was the right place for Mom. One of the immediate differences that stood out was that all the staff up to the Director level have offices in the general area of where the residents live. So, if they are merely going to get a cup of coffee they will interact with the patients. On our first visit we were greeted by Director, Head Chef, PA, and other key individuals that would be working with Mom. Our decision was easy at this point that Morningstar at Bear Creek was the best fit for Mom. Eight months under our belt and we feel confident we made the right decision! Although there are many wonderful things about Morningstar, the team of three individuals that run the activities that keep the patients busy need to be recognized. Gresha, Charlie, and Roberta are the amazing trio that organize pizza making, floral arrangements, bowling, meditation, sing along, church, exercises, and Happy Hour, to name just a few! Not to mention they are the lifeline to the families! Morningstar at Bear Creek and the staff are amazing and we would recommend them to any family in our similar situation. Petersen Family

I recently asked for a tour at Bear Creek and I was greeted by a woman named Dawn and I couldn't have been more impressed by the folks at the Bear Creek Morning Star. From the moment I walked in to the building I felt welcomed and more importantly my loved one was greeted and treated as someone who belonged. I can honestly say that I've never felt that way before and based on the way we were treated to a complimentary my meal, and just the people that work there this morning I decided that I will be leaning towards moving my husband there. I've struggled deeply with the decision I will eventually have to make regarding him, and I've done a lot of research regarding this decision. I will be able to visit him, and even if I don't grab a cup of coffee before I know that Cara and a young lady named Olivia wil offer that to me. The hospitality is second to none and I highly recommend anyone going through what I am going through to give this place a look. It feels like a place I can trust and it's a place I feel like I can come see my husband anytime and be loved while I'm there. Miekka and the team are excellent and wholesome, this is definitely the place to recommend!

I was looking for a place to care for my aging mom .She had a long list of medical issues, and I needed a place that I felt comfortable leaving her out of my care. My dad and I didn’t have an appointment but were greeted warmly and absolutely impressed with the beautiful facility and excellent staff. Dawn brought us in and carefully listened to our needs and wishes for my mom, gave us information and a tour without a hard sales pitch. Wellness director Terry came out to meet my mom and find out if the facility would be a good fit for her. He was so caring and compassionate, and let me know they could accommodate her. Unfortunately, before we could make the arrangements, she passed away. Based on the caring interactions that we had, I would 100% place a family member here.

My father has been at Bear Creek for 5 months and has adjusted well. I am very thankful that the staff all know my father's name and greet him when they see him. Whenever I stop by (and I do stop by at various times of the day and week), someone will quickly let me know where he is within the facility. The staff and programs strike a lovely balance between offering activities and letting him have autonomy in making his own decisions based on preferences (per decisions that wouldn't compromise his safety). My sister has been able to stay in a respite room when she visits him from out of state, and has been pleased throughout the day/night of his care and for the concern and attention of all the staff.
