Merrill Gardens at Woodstock

This is the absolute best senior living community in the Woodstock metro Atlanta area. My mother has been a resident for 7 months in Garden House which is the specialized memory care at Merrill Gardens. My mom’s caregivers are thoroughly trained and experienced with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Everyone treats the residents with care and compassion. Unlike many other communities where dementia and Alzheimer’s residents are not treated with the dignity and respect deserved, MG staff and other residents include and give choices to all residents. Garden House is a smaller community within Merrill Gardens that allows my mom to feel independent and make choices about her daily routine, but in a safe environment. The daily dining experience allows her to be with other residents for socialization. The meals are excellent. She receives fresh fruit and vegetables daily which I have found is rare in other communities. They offer a three course meal with homemade desserts. The dining staff does food demonstrations which my mom really enjoys. The homemade strawberry shortcake is her favorite. I would highly recommend this community for anyone seeking independent, assisted or memory care in Woodstock. It has been a blessing to my family. Thank you Merrill Gardens!!

Nothing is more precious than one’s mother, nor more scary than selecting a facility for independent living or assisted living Or memory care. It is an endeavor to uncover the best economic decision that provides an ambience that you would want to personally move to, amenities that encourage a sense of community, a warmth in terms of the staff and decorum, and a floor plan that allows for personal expression. Walking into Merrill Garden for the first time is walking into a vacation lodge. I felt welcome. This is much different than most facilities, would you rather be on vacation or cooped up in a box? At this location you might have the benefit of meeting a front desk representative that is attentive, courteous and engaging. Whose friendly smile and simple questions gets you to the right person in minutes, and personally guides you to the Bistro for coffee if you need a minute before you tour. (Thank you Minnie). And you might have a tour with a staff member that knows her stuff. Where stuff includes time to get know your needs for your parent, asks about what your parent is like, can reflect with you on building an mission for what care you want your parent to receive, and on top of the has a really neat personality. Ms. Paula Hayne was that person for me. You can view the property and pictures on their web pages age. What you can’t get is the community spirit and engaging interactions. We spent more time at this facility than other places as the interest in getting to know my parent was that important to Paula. When it came to the end of the tour we understood that caring for my mom would be their main interest. Thank you 🙏

While my Mom's stay there was brief due to outside circumstances, we will miss the genuine personnel care that was shown to us by Mickie and her staff at Merrill Gardens. Mickie went to extra efforts to make us feel at home....it was a hard decision to leave in order to move my Mom closer to my home.

Highly recommend. My mom is a long time resident of Roswell/Woodstock GA. I visited and researched so many places in the surrounding areas but nothing compares to Merrell Gardens. I must have visited MG 20 times before my mom moved and I talked with staff, residents and resident relatives- always good interactions and positive information. It’s such a hard decision but the management is so caring and really goes to extra effort for each and every person. Definitely recommend.
