Merrill Gardens at Hillsboro

Merrill Gardens has been an incredible blessing for my in-laws. The care team has supported them with kindness, patience, and professionalism through aging changes and a few medical challenges, and we’re deeply grateful for the way they’ve continued to thrive in this community. The meals, daily support, and welcoming environment have given our family such peace of mind. But what stands out the most is how they treat our whole family. Our grandchildren are always greeted with warmth and love the moment we walk through the door. Staff members remember their names, engage with them, and make them feel like they’re part of the Merrill Gardens family too. The entire community feels safe, joyful, and truly invested in the wellbeing of its residents. We couldn’t be more appreciative of the care and compassion shown to our loved ones. Highly recommend Merrill Gardens to any family looking for a place where both residents and visitors are genuinely cared for.

Merrill Gardens is a delightful place for retired seniors, the staff are friendly and helpful. Dining is restaurant style and the staff will take your order and serve you. Amenities are plentiful, one of my favorites is the sky lounge. Residents are able to reserve this for different functions. We just had a birthday party for my 92 year old grandmother and she loved it. I would highly recommend that anyone interested in either moving into a retirement community or placing a loved one into a senior home to schedule a tour.

The team at Merrill Gardens has exceeded every expectation in caring for my grandparents. My grandmother has flourished in their environment, and my grandfather—who has navigated significant health and emotional challenges—has been supported with steady, compassionate care. They meet him with humor, dignity, and a true understanding of who he is. Beyond their care for residents, the staff consistently extends warmth to our family. My daughters lovingly call one staff member the “cookie lady,” and everyone—from the kitchen staff to the front desk—asks about them, remembers their names, and welcomes us with genuine connection. It’s a level of relational care that makes this community feel like home.

My mother-in -law moved into Merrill Gardens this year and it seems as though it's been a great way for her to make new friends to play games and dine with, as well as provide opportunities for new experiences! My family has had several meals there, including a special Thanksgiving buffet, which have all been delicious. My son special requested ice cream, because he doesn't like pie, and the kitchen was happy to serve it. The facilities are always well-kept and clean and my mother-in-law seems to enjoy the friendly staff and new surroundings. They even provided organizers and movers which made the transition so easy. We also like how care needs can be adjusted, per resident needs.
