Pamela was great. She made us feel comfortable right away and walked us through everything clearly. She was professional, kind, and really knew what she was talking about. You can tell she genuinely cares, and that made a big difference for us. We really loved Maplewood it’s a beautiful place and feels like a great environment for our parents. The whole experience felt smooth and reassuring. Thanks, Pamela you did an awesome job. Adam B.

We moved my elderly friend in in late summer of last year. In the eight months he was there. There were three different managers unfortunately, each one was progressively worse. Maintenance request were ignored, it took six requests to get a parking space assigned to him. In the time he was there I made at least five attempts to get a second key fob, I received one the week before he moved out (And it only worked for two days before failing). At one point, his mail went uncollected for two weeks And no one informed me. The mailman told me he had pointed out to them several times and no one did anything. He ended up in the hospital, barely hanging on because his condition had not been reported to me or deal dealt with. The people at the front desk were always very friendly and wrote down every request that I made, but when I followed up a couple days later, the request was often lost or met with a blank stare. The staff that dealt directly with him as far as helping him get to the cafeteria or helping him bathe were for the most part good. The Area that it fell apart was with the administration and maintenance. I even had a meeting with the lead administrator and the head of the wellness department outlining my concerns. Absolutely nothing changed. When we moved him in We were convinced that he had made the right choice, but in a very short time, we discovered that everything was overpromised and underdeliverd. The most common answer that We received was “we don’t do that” which was directly contrary to what we had been told when he was touring the facility. At one point, someone had dropped a large glass Jar in the parking lot, leaving large jagged pieces right where people walked to get to their car. I stood and pointed to exactly where it was to the person at the front desk and one of the maintenance people. 24 hours later it was still there. I have since moved him to another facility where he is extremely happy and thriving. He is amazed that the level of service he is getting and often says “when you ask them for something they do it for you“ I’m just happy that we got him out of there in time for him to enjoy his new family at his new facility. I thought long and hard before I wrote this review, but I feel that we gave them so many chances to make things right and they dropped the ball on every occasion.

Gracious and friendly: Maplewood at Mayflower Place is thoughtfully designed to be welcoming for residents and their guests. The grounds are landscaped with seasonal flowering displays, and inside the front door is a beautiful lobby featuring a sunny atrium, comfy living room furniture, and pleasant Associates (employees). Its own library is complete with books supplied by the Yarmouth Town Libraries, a cozy fireplace, computer access, and a special page-magnifying machine to help those who need it. The Concierge on duty will assist with transportation requests (free rides to local medical appointments) and with the weekly bus trips to drugstore and grocery shopping. Residents can buy a book of stamps and a nicely priced (50 cents!) greeting card and mail it from their own little post office in the building. Maplewood Senior Living has several Activities Associates who make sure there are lots of things to do each day; think discussion groups, book clubs, Wii games like putting and bowling, team trivia, card games (Poker is popular), Scrabble, and movies. Add to that musical performances, gentle exercising, religious services, and fun trips to local museums, thrift shops, and other attractions, and residents seldom feel bored at Maplewood Senior Living! There’s an indoor swimming pool and gym, a theater area for gatherings, and a dining room with white linen tablecloths on which chef-curated meals are served. Freshly baked cookies arrive on platters during the day, so the lobby is a fun place to pause awhile. The Wellness department offers around-the-clock nursing availability, and specialists such as podiatrists and hearing professionals make regular visits. There’s a beauty salon, too. Residents particularly enjoy having their hair done right on the premises. Excellent extras: You can bring your beloved pet to live here with you! A pianist performs every Saturday morning on one of the baby grands! This is an exceptionally fine place to live.
