We moved our mom from her condo to independent living at Mallard Landing after thorough research and its proximity to our residence. She went through a complete metamorphous, within one month! Mom is more vibrant and in better physical health than she has been in years. When she first arrived, mom had to rest at least twice on her trek to the dining room, she now makes that trip 3 to 4 times a day without stopping. Her prior eating habits could be best described as similar to a teenager, living on fast food. Mom now loves the home style cooked meals at Mallard Landing, especially the ability to give feedback to the cook. They have designed a system where if the residents like a particular meal, they circle it on the menu and tell the cook thru a suggestion box," Brilliant". In the morning she is greeted by her name and automatically given her preferred black coffee and cranberry juice, it's like being on a cruise ship(her words). She is spending very little time in her spacious studio apartment because she is playing cards, doing daily seated exercises, or going on excursions. We actually got shooshed the other day because she was too busy to talk, she was having fun! The staff is amazing! We call them our angels, Mary, Kristi, and Haley just to name a few. Their experience in understanding the seniors and how to make them comfortable and inclusive is stellar. The greatest compliment for Mallard Landing came from our mom, she said to us," I never want to leave here".

I have been living at Mallard Landing for almost 3 amazing years. The friendships that feel like family are the best. The staff is amazing and I love being a part of Our Golden Ladies and being a part of helping with tours with Krissy. I stay busy between all the activities daily and love the fact I can stroll around such a beautiful building.
