We moved my brother here in late March 2026 after we became concerned about his ability to manage his medications and keep house. We were also concerned about social isolation, which was compounded when his driver’s license was pulled. My brother has lifelong cognitive deficits, and while he functioned reasonably well, he never lived alone until our parents, then sister died. It was Adulting 101 for a 72-year-old man. I live 75 miles away, so it has been a relief to have my brother living in a friendly, safe environment run by staff who understand his social needs and limitations, and make efforts to include him in field trips and activities. They were welcoming at the start and that warmth and inclusion continues. He’s a traditional meat and potatoes man and not too adventurous when it comes to food, but he gives high marks to the chef. “Yeah, that was ok!” is high praise from my brother. His apartment is big enough to accommodate many items from the family home, which helped ease the transition. Tracy understands our family dynamics and was a great sounding board in helping me navigate a tricky situation that would ensure my brother’s long-term wellbeing. While not eligible for Independent Living, the assisted living accommodations provide a good balance that allows him to still flex some independence with the support he needs to stay safe. We had a prior experience with Layton Terrace when my sister lived there. She had a host of health and behavioral issues, which kept staff hopping. She is at peace now and so am I (but still alive) knowing that my brother is in good hands.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Layton Terrace and the incredible experience my mother has had there over the past four years in the independent living section. From day one, it has truly felt like a vibrant, welcoming community rather than just a residence. There is always something happening — engaging daytime activities, social gatherings, creative workshops, games, and evening entertainment. My mother has built meaningful friendships and stays active and involved every single day. It gives our family so much peace of mind knowing she has such a full, enriching lifestyle. The staff and leadership team consistently go above and beyond. The director and care team have worked closely with our family to understand my mother’s individual needs and preferences. They communicate openly, listen thoughtfully, and respond with compassion and professionalism. It’s clear they genuinely care about every resident as a person, not just a number. The community itself is warm, clean, and beautifully maintained. There is a strong sense of dignity, respect, and independence, while also offering support when needed. As we begin to think about my mother eventually transitioning into memory care down the road, I feel completely confident that she is in the right place. The continuum of care available gives our family tremendous reassurance that she will be supported every step of the way. Most importantly, my mother is happy. She feels safe, valued, and connected — and that means everything to us. I wholeheartedly recommend Layton Terrace to anyone looking for a caring, engaging, and trustworthy community for their loved one. It has been a true blessing for our family. - Randy

I've been living at Layton Terrace for about a year and it is a very nice place to live. The employees are very nice and I get all my needs met. I especially like the activities like seasonal parties and bingo!

Chris was a big help at Layton terrace, patience and understanding with my mom. My mom liked it but she wants to go home and I can’t change her mind. We are going to try it but we might be back!. Thanks again Chris
