Kingston of Ashland

Our mother lived at Kingston of Ashland from early July, 2024, until she passed on December 15, 2025. During her time at this well-kept facility, she was loved and treated with dignity by the staff. So many individuals contributed to her care, and each one deserves praise. Special recognition goes to amazing Nurse Cindy, Therapist Dawn and Aide Kayden. We could list many more nurses and aides who touched her life in positive ways on a daily basis. Receptionists Nancy and Kathy were friendly and helpful ambassadors for the facility. Cam and her girls kept the building spotless. Doug and Nick took pride in maintaining everything in top-notch working order. Dietician Natalie was always suggesting and implementing ways to encourage our mother to eat. Meals were well-prepared with a nice variety of menu options throughout the week. The Activities staff planned a multitude of stimulating programs such as bingo, crafts and music that she often enjoyed. Social Services Directors Josh and Sabrina were wonderful resources whenever issues arose. Business Director Jenni always offered a smile and a kind word. As a family, we were made to feel welcome and listened to at Kingston. We would highly recommend considering Kingston of Ashland when searching for a place for your loved one to call home.

Kingston has such a warm inviting feel from the moment you walk in the community. The staff is so kind and caring. The Executive Director Heather is outstanding she really raises the bar when it comes to compassion and care for her residents. Heather makes you feel like more than a just resident, you feel like you are family.

I am hoping this review gets someone's attention... This is the 4th day my father has been in this facility and every day they have forgotten a meal (breakfast or dinner). They failed to answer his call button multiple times when he needs to use the restroom. He has had to call the facility's main phone line and request someone to come to help him after getting no response for 45 minutes. (This is a very tame version of what has been going on.) I have addressed my concerns with his nurse and the nurse in charge yesterday. It helped slightly and I understand that staffing is an issue but the care still needs to improve. On a positive note the PT and OT have been great. I had heard many positive comments about there rehab which is why we chose Kingston. A case manager has called whenever there is a concern or change in his status.

The level of compassion, professionalism, and dedication displayed by their team is second to none. Their staff is not only knowledgeable and attentive, but also genuinely warm and welcoming, making both residents and families feel at ease from the moment they walk through the doors. The therapy department at Kingston is truly outstanding. Their physical, occupational, and speech therapists go above and beyond to help residents regain strength, independence, and confidence. It’s incredibly comforting to know that when our residents need short-term rehab, they’re in such capable and caring hands. Kingston provides peace of mind, not just for families, but for us as providers too. We are grateful for the partnership and the exceptional care they consistently deliver. Also Jess is amazing, her communication is amazing and also takes a lot of work off my hands when we refer someone to her. The social work team is one of a kind they are always communicating with updates on our residents and helping for a smooth transition back home!
