My mom recently spent a few weeks at Kingston Care Center in Sylvania. It’s a very stressful experience choosing a place for a sick loved one. However, from the moment I walked in the door until the day we left to bring my mom home, I felt confident that she was in good hands. All of the staff: nurses, therapists, admin, receptionists, and social workers were wonderful. The nurses provided excellent medical care and were kind and attentive. The physical/occupational/speech therapists were awesome. The facility was clean and beautiful. I am very thankful for the compassionate and excellent care that my mom received from everyone, and also for the courtesy and compassion that was given to me whenever I had a question or concern. I would highly recommend Kingston to anyone in need of their services.

Nurses and the aides don’t care about residents. I’ve heard people screaming for help and nobody reacted. We have experienced absolute chaos that’s happening on the second floor. Bedside manners of Carolyn is horrible. Disrespectful and rude. When my mother in law was admitted the nurses and aides didn’t listen to her screaming and asking for help. Avoid that please at any means.

My father was here for 3 weeks, in that time I walked into his room 4 separate times and his oxygen tank was empty. I don't know how many other times he's been without oxygen. He is very alert and aware of his surroundings, he was fearful of his life. He said he believes someone was going in his room at night and turning down his oxygen concentrater. I walked into his room and his oxygen was down to 1½ L and he's supposed to be on 4L. My sister and I went in to discuss our concerns with them two days ago and nothing helped. He fell out of bed when he first arrived, still has a black eye from that, said his arm hurt when he fell but they did absolutely nothing. He should've been sent to ER for xrays to his arm and head. Today he transferred to a different facility and was supposed to go directly after dialysis at 10:30 this morning, somehow paperwork and authorizations were needed but not received so he went back to Kingston where he sat from 11AM until 5PM. When I got to his room he was sitting on a bare bed with wet carpeting. He sat for 6 hours unable to take a nap because he had no sheets on his bed. One of his afternoon shift aides ssid she was told not to make his bed because "he's leaving today, he doesn't need sheets". I am so thankful he's no longer at this facility, he can finally sleep without the fear of someone turning off his oxygen. We tried multiple times to bring our concerns to staff but were just given lip service. I gave 1 star because the therapy is amazing! Edited to add: If you have issues or concerns take them directly to the administrator, it appears that our concerns were never brought to the administrator's attention like we thought they were or should have been.
