Inspired Living at Bonita Springs

Six months ago we moved our 84-year-old brother from Boston to Florida because he was diagnosed with dementia. Looking for a memory care facility is an more daunting task than I expected. After visiting several facilities in the Bonita Springs area, I selected Inspired Living. It was an excellent decision. Over the past 6 months the appearance, and maintenance of the facility has exceeded my expectations. It is a bright and clean unit that is well managed. It takes a special type of person to care for dementia patients. Inspired Living has such staff members at every level of the organization. There are a few I want to call out: • General Manager Kathryn: she is an experienced leader and very accessible to family members. She has been a very big help to me. • Head Nurse Jenny: is very knowledgeable, accessible and prompt in her responses to resident as well as family needs. • Care Giver Ann: Her personality is so giving and her dedication to dementia residents is admirable. After 6 months of frequent visits, I feel even more confident that we found the proper place for my brother. I highly recommend Inspired Living.

This facility used to be decent, but since the recent management change, things have gone downhill. I was told the change would make things better, but it’s been the opposite. My mom used to be happy here, and now she’s not. Top management —Uni, Catherine and Jenny — keep talking in circles while staff continue to quit or get fired. It no longer feels like the focus is on the residents’ care or well-being. The new employees often can’t communicate effectively in English and don’t appear to be properly trained or qualified to work in memory care. The facility is also noticeably understaffed, which only adds to the problems. The final straw was when Susan, who truly cared about the residents, was fired for no apparent reason. She was the main reason my mom stayed at this facility as long as she did. If you’re considering placing your loved one here, I’d strongly suggest thinking twice. The residents deserve better care, qualified staff, and management that truly puts them first. Stay away!!

Inspired Living used to actually feel inspiring — the residents were happy, the team cared, and there was real heart behind the work. But ever since this new company bought them out, it’s been nothing short of a disaster. The professionalism? Gone. The communication? Nonexistent. I agree completely with the other recent review — everything they said is spot on. It’s sad to see a once well-run community turn into chaos. The management team is more focused on appearances and politics than the well-being of the residents or the staff actually doing the work. They say they care, but their actions show otherwise. One of their very first executive decisions was to take away the monthly family meetings, and honestly, what a stupid move. Those meetings kept families informed, involved, and reassured that their loved ones were being cared for properly. Any facility that truly values transparency and resident well-being would never eliminate that. It just proves what’s become painfully clear: it’s all about the money now, not the residents. Turnover is through the roof, good caregivers are leaving left and right, and those who stay are overworked and under appreciated. The new hires are often untrained and unprepared to work in memory care, which puts everyone at risk, especially the residents who deserve so much better. If you’re a family considering placing your loved one here, please think twice. Until major changes happen at the leadership level, this place is running on fumes and false promises. Don’t let the marketing fool you — it’s not the same Inspired Living it used to be.

My mother is new to Inspired Living Bonita Springs. Over the years I have had to transition her and my grandmother to new facilities many times as their health declined from Independent Living, then Assisted Living, and eventually to Memory Care. Finding the right facility and transitioning can be an overwhelming experience for everyone including the responsible family member. Mary White from Inspired Living Bonita Springs made this the easiest process and transition I have ever experienced. She held my hand through the whole process addressing questions, paperwork, and was hands on with move in day. The facility is beautiful and an excellent open environment for for residents to feel involved even if they want to just relax and observe others. My mother is very social, but becoming hesitant to be involved as her memory declines. Everyone was so welcoming upon arrival: my mother was involved in activities within five minutes, had lunch, and made new friends before her bags were even unpacked. I am so pleased with Mary's kindness and professionalism through this challenging process. I know how difficult it is to endlessly search for the right facility for your love one. I hope this review helps other people searching for a facility...I would highly recommend that you call Inspired Living Bonita Springs.
