Respite care is short-term or temporary care. Respite care can be provided in adult day centers, in private homes via home health agencies and in senior living communities, most often assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.

We moved our loved one to this facility after being in the same house for over 50 years. It was a tough transition that was needed for their safety as living at home was no longer an option. The management and staff are amazing!! They care and love the residents like they were their own. BEST decision we could have EVER made for our loved one. And the Activities Director is top notch. So many fun and engaging activities for everyone. Our loved one now visits their old house to make sure all is ok, but asks if they can go “home” to Holland Farms.

While I am happy to provide a positive review for Holland Farms from a personal point of view, I think it is even more important to share that in my interactions with other health care providers, I have heard nothing but praise for the Holland Farms staff and it's administration. Depending on your insurance and ability to pay, there are a wide variety of outside caregivers that provide services to Holland Farms residents: hospice, in-home medical care, 24/7 on call, massage, a podiatrist, vaccination clinic and more. These are individuals who travel to local assisted living/memory care facilities and are familiar with the wide range in quality, cleanliness, and staffing. Many of the outside providers I have spoken to have said some variation of "this is one of the good places" or "I like to come to this facility" or "the staff is really responsive here". As this is one of the few assisted living/memory care facilities I am familiar with, my experience is limited. I really appreciate that the people who regularly make the rounds of these types of facilities rate Holland Farms as one of the best.

🚩 The turnover rate at Holland Farms is alarming. 🚩 Holland Farms has had multiple directors in two years. These terminations have been abrupt and without notice to residents. 🚩 The facility looks beautiful, however, it is under constant repair. 🚩 A leaking shower on the third floor caused walls and flooring to be taken down to studs -- for months! 🚩 Broken central AC units and heaters on the second floor caused distress for many residents. Leadership and staff's first response was denial and an accusation that residents "don't know how to work the thermostat." 🚩 There is no urgency with building repairs and a notable lack of transparency among staff. 🚩 Rent increases continue while guaranteed amenities are not met. 🚩🚩🚩🚩 Beware of the red flags! I'm so glad we moved our loved ones out of Holland Farms. It was a stressful two years, but we are grateful there are better options for carefree and assisted living than Holland Farms.
