Holiday Illahee Hills

As a senior living leader we are so thankful for Illahee Hills Senior Living. The staff truly care and treat our loved one like family, which brings us so much comfort. The restaurant-style dining with four (4) entree choices at each meal is something our loved one really enjoys, and having the Ramsey Therapy physical therapy team on-site has been such a blessing. Knowing our loved one is happy, well cared for, and supported every day means more to us than words can say. We highly recommend Illahee Hills to other families.

I moved to Illahee Hills in Urbandale from Mt. Ayer, Iowa, to be closer to my kids and grandkids, and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Being nearby means they visit much more often, and that time together is truly priceless. I’ve also really enjoyed the community here. The people are friendly and welcoming, and it doesn’t feel cliquey like where I lived before. It’s been easy to feel at home. One of the biggest perks is not having to cook or clean up all the time. I appreciate coming back to a clean apartment and being able to spend my time doing things I enjoy instead of worrying about chores. The natural surroundings and walkability are wonderful — it’s so nice to step outside and enjoy a peaceful walk. I’m very happy with my decision to move to Illahee Hills and would recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming community and a comfortable, low-maintenance lifestyle.

I’ve been a resident at Illahee Hills Senior Living Community for the past four years, and it truly feels like home. One of the best parts of living here is the friendships I’ve built—not only with other residents, but with the staff as well. Everyone is welcoming, kind, and genuinely cares about the people who live here. There are always plenty of activities to choose from, which makes it easy to stay active, involved, and connected. Whether you enjoy social events, games, or quieter activities, there’s something for everyone. I also appreciate having options when selecting meal entrées, which makes dining more enjoyable and personalized. Most important to me is the responsibility and honor of being an Illahee Hills Resident Ambassador. In this role, I help welcome and onboard new residents, introduce them to others, and encourage them to get involved in the community. Being able to support others as they settle in has been incredibly meaningful and really reflects the caring, inclusive spirit of Illahee Hills. Overall, Illahee Hills has been a wonderful place to live, and I’m grateful for the strong sense of community and quality of life it provides.

I’ve been a resident at Illahee Hills Senior Living Community here in Urbandale, and I genuinely love calling this place home. One of my favorite things is how walkable the community is—I can get out for a stroll without worrying about traffic or noise. It’s peaceful and quiet, which makes it easy to relax and feel settled. The complimentary transportation has been a huge plus for me. Whether it’s a medical appointment or a trip to run errands, it’s comforting to know I don’t have to stress about driving. And for a little fun, Wednesday evening bingo is a highlight of the week—lots of laughs, friendly competition, and a great way to connect with neighbors. Especially when I win. If you’re looking for a calm, welcoming community with thoughtful amenities and a true sense of belonging, I’d absolutely recommend taking a look at Illahee Hills. It’s been a wonderful place to live.
