My mother moved there in November and the staff has been so kind and patient with her...she had a difficult time adjusting to her new location, but thanks to the kindness of the staff, she has settled in comfortably..there are so many activities she could participate in and the apartment itself is spacious and warm...the food is really good and the fact that meals are included in the rent makes it so easy for the residents. The building is so inviting as soon as you walk through the door, andthe decor is always changing...highly recommend...

I can't praise the manager Dan enough. Management can be so busy and stressful but he is generally and genuinely kind and caring, thank you. Holiday Glenville is a good place for mom. She was a foreign housewife that stayed at home most of her life and ended up with depression and life at Holiday Glenville gave her a new start and allowed her to make friends for the first time in her life. Everyone there has gone through their own life story and they can relate with each other. Everything is included, from meals to some local transportation for medical/leisure (mom gets extra transportation from her Medicare Advantage program and there is also Star Program (via CDTA), etc. (The Atrium shuttle driver is usually very nice but mom and him did have a little spat over navigation, I hope he will consider using navigation if an address can't be easily found). She has her own independent lovely apartment but also has a life with the other residents in the big atrium where various holiday musical events and festivities, as well as movie and game nights. Can't believe mom got into learning and winning at Poker with her new friends there! The area is pretty safe, not far are some shopping areas a bit off yonder. The Glenville Senior Center is not far and they also have a shuttle that gives free rides. Mom also has an emergency pendent she can press anytime she has an emergency and I think she said there is an emergency button in the apartment. My paralegal friend visited mom there and said they did new renovations and it looks like a beautiful hotel lobby, luxurious. She also enjoys the staff there. The only thing I would change is maybe ad an extra elevator and one of the independent aides (I'll refer to her first name initial B.) is a very pushy with her services and badmouthing the other aides and trying to get me to call the Health Dept. on the other aides for things I never even witnessed (mom doesn't need them right now anyways). We let B. drive mom 4 miles to a hearing appt. and she charged her $80 and for one hour of the time B. stopped and ordered pizza and ate it and charged mom for that hour. B. She at least did say sorry for cheating mom and gave her $20 back. So just follow your gut and choose wisely, my sister and paralegal told me many of the aides seem good and hardworking. I had to block B. online from bugging me to hire her as an aide for mom. The aides are separate from Atrium, not on their payroll, but private hire. Atrium is a gem. It might cost a bit but you get a lot for what you pay for. Its a beautiful place and has good management.

We moved my mom into Holiday at the Atrium several months ago and she was very resistant to leave her home where she had lived for 50 years. All the staff at the atrium was so kind and helpful to her during this time, they truly care about the residents. It was such a good move for her, she is now so happy there. The socialization has done wonders for her mind and spirit. The apartments are spacious and bright, and she was able to bring her 2 cats with her. There are activities every day that the residents can participate in if they choose. The atrium is bright and cheerful and very welcoming. My mom says all the time how happy she is there and how much she enjoys it. I would recommend the Holiday at the Atrium to anyone.
