As an Occupational Therapist I have a unique perspective of assisted living and memory care communities. I am probably a bit more critical because I have worked with many patients who have not received the level of care their families expected. Hilltop Reserve has consistently impressed me with their investment in building trust with residents and resolving issues quickly. Staff KNOWS the residents and that has created a warmth and family experience that should put resident loved ones at ease. I wish my mom had been able to be a part of this community.

Toured with a family member who is looking to move into independent living. This was by far the best community we’ve seen. The activities exceeded my family member’s expectations and gave her a whole new perspective on what independent living can offer. The facility is beautiful—welcoming, clean, and thoughtfully designed. We left feeling excited and hopeful about the possibilities here at Hilltop.

My late husband and I moved to Hilltop in the fall of 2022 after living at a major national chain’s senior facility for 3 years. Immediately we noticed the positive differences at Hilltop Reserve from our previous place. Hilltop’s staff is professional and caring. At the same time that I was recovering from a recent knee replacement I was going daily to see my husband who was in the ICU unit at Porter Hospital. Hilltop drove me to my scheduled appointments for physical therapy but also to my unscheduled visits to see my husband in the hospital. They even provided me with a transport chair ( a small wheelchair) to facilitate my hospital visits. As a New Yorker I appreciate how kind my fellow residents are to newcomers. Even though I am in my early eighties, I have been able to make new friends. My days are filled with book club, mah jongg, canasta, bridge, Scrabble, poetry, lectures and personal training. I enjoy socializing with my fellow residents. Moving to Hilltop was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

We looked at Hilltop when my parents first relocated and loved it but it didn’t work out at that time. When my mom ended up needing more care, we returned and found it to be the right place with my mom in Monarch House and my dad in Independent Living. Both have been wonderful experiences. Sherry in Leasing is the best and makes everything so smooth from the get go. While being in a facility is never perfect, we have really enjoyed Hilltop. Monarch keeps the residents busy with fun activities and various outings. Staffing is a struggle as it is everywhere at any facility and there is definitely some turnover but it seems to come in waves and seems to be slowing right now. IL has been a great place for my dad to be close enough to my mom to easily visit but still have his own life. They also do so many fun things regularly. The staff at Hilltop from the concierge to caregivers to administration all really care and are responsive to concerns when things arise. I would recommend.
