High Plains Crossing Reviews

I am not employ by High Plains. I am not being paid for writing this review. My dad checked into High Plains about 2 weeks ago. I have been caring for my dad at home 24/7 for several years as he declined cognitively and physically at home. I read many reviews at many different homes as well as touring many homes before I decided on High Plains. I like to comment on the couple of things. 1) Taking off the clothes or abnornal social behaviors. This happen and sometimes if one interfere, it might agitate the individual more than help. As long as it is not affecting the safety of the individual or people around, it can be address when the caregiving is not in the middle of a task. I have experienced that with my dad. 2) Falls. During the 2 weeks, I came to visit my dad several times a day everyday. I did witness a fall of another resident and I saw the nurse/caregiver coming over with more than 1 nurse. I observed that the nurses followed the protocols that were written in the contract when I signed it. The resident was fine and the nurses helped the individual. My dad is a fall risk so that is always on the top of my mind. High Plains installed AUGi technology which I gave permission to enable to detect potential fall and sent an alert to the nurse. A tool is a tool unless it is used. High Plains utilized the tool and response was quick with a nurse coming into the room within seconds to a minute. Not only that, Kristina who is the Health service director used this tool and gave me suggestions of what I can do to possibly reduce my dad's fall. 3) Cleanliness. This place is very clean and well kept. I see the staff cleans often especially after meals and snacks. Also, the cleaning staff does a very good job cleaning my dad's room on a daily basis as well as in the common area. Joe walks around and look for anything that he sees need to be fixed or touched up.He treats the place like his own home. 4) Welcoming. Charlene is my first contact and she is compassion and patience with the many questions and assistance with contract, tours, moving that I had. 5) Nurses/caregivers. I have seen wonderful staff and patience with the residents. It is a hard job especially for the evening nurses when a few residents have sundowners. I see them help the residents who needed special guidance with patience. Care coordinator, Lucinda worked with compassion and coordinate to help the residents here and provide modification to care as needed. 6) Susan, the life enchrichment /coordinatore work really hard to encourage all residents to join in the activities 7) Food. The meals and snacks here are good. The chef plan meals such that residents can eat well. She made one particular BBQ pork that I like to have her recipe. 8) Layout. The layout of this place is like a hotel with wide hallway which fits well with my dad's desire to walk. Overall, my priorities for my dad are safety first, assuring that he is eating, he is being taken care of with good hygiene and he is getting his medicine on time. There are a few places that I toured that are also good. I believed that I found the place that is suitable for my dad at High Plains Crossing. He is adjusting much better than I am.

This MC Community under new ownership is doing a great change for Greeley MC options. As a placement professional, they are easy to work with, communicate, and will work to make our referrals fit into the community.

This is the worst memory care you can put your loved ones in. Just because they changed the name doesn’t mean they changed their reputation. They neglect their patients and the staff sit and chit chit instead of doing their job. The amount of times I had to watch their patients fall victim to their laziness was ridiculous. Allowing residents to remove clothing without prompting them to put it back in, not encouraging residents to eat during meal time or keep the facility clean. I wouldn’t put my worst enemies in this facility they should be ashamed

I have the pleasure of providing music to the residents and staff a few times a month. I have always been so impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their attention to the residents, and their commitment to bringing lightness and laughter with music! We are truly enjoying getting to know the residents...and we love to see them respond to the music... Lots of smiles!! I am honored to take part!
