Heritage Oaks of Englewood

My mom is a new resident at Heritage Oaks memory care and we couldn't be more pleased. The staff expertly run by the wonderful Deana Hager go above and beyond every day to make sure that all the residents are clean and cared for and more importantly they feel loved. My family is so joyful with our decision to have mom at Heritage Oaks. It really is home 🏡

I selected Heritage Oaks Memory Care facility for my mom and glad I did. Dee and her staff have been outstanding with care, cleanings, meals, activities, and communications to keep me updated with mom. One can't expect 100% within a memory care facility. But this place does their best. I will highly recommend Heritage Oaks to care for your elderly folks 😀

My Mom moved to Heritage Oaks at the end of June 2025. Placing my mom, in a Memory Care Community was one of the most difficult emotional processes that I have experienced. Knowing your loved one will be safe and cared for helps through this transition. Heritage Oaks has done much more than that. Deana, Clinical Manager of Memory Care continues to go above and beyond in the ways she communicates how my mom is doing, whether it to be to communicate joyous moments or struggling moments. The staff is kind, nurturing and patient. Every resident is addressed by their name, and it is clear how well the staff knows their residents. No Memory Care facility, in my opinion, will ever be perfect and without flaws or issues. However, each time there was an issue that I brought to Deana’s attention or general management’s attention, our issues were taken seriously, and staff followed through to resolve or address the issues. My Mom seems to enjoy the food, and she certainly participates and enjoys the activities and entertainment, which is more frequent, than I had expected. The Memory Care residents join the residents in Assisted Living to participate in the activities, live entertainment and parties that are offered. I am grateful my mom is safe, enjoying the activities, and making positive connections with members (staff and residents) in this community. An added positive note is, Heritage Oaks is a welcoming community that encourages visiting when convenient for your schedule.

The support at Heritage Oaks is amazing. The executives here as well as all the staff from the exceptional receptionists, aides, nurses, to those who do the cleaning and maintenance are all kind, caring individuals who greet you as part of the community and give freely of their time to assist you in whatever way they can. My mom began her journey here in assisted living and now resides in the Memory Care Unit. Mom adjusted very quickly to this Unit as the smaller environment has helped her feel more secure and the increase in assistance with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing and toileting from staff are a huge help. Deana Hager is the Director of the Memory Care Unit where Mom currently resides. It was a tough decision to put my mom there and Deana has been a huge help with the transition. She and all the staff there have have been a great support to my mom as well as to myself and family. Her door is usually open and despite all the paperwork she is busy with she is kind about interruptions and has a welcome attitude especially with the residents. She has a genuine relationship with residents, their families and the staff here. She doesn’t just sit at her desk she actively gets to know the residents and I have frequently had the privilege to see her help residents with extreme difficulties to eat. Most days they have planned activities for those that can/ want to participate each week and the residents are kept socially gathered during the day in the main area so they aren’t alone in their rooms. Nurses and aides are readily prepared to assist with medications, mealtime and toileting needs. The staff often goes above and beyond -Mom really enjoys getting her nails done frequently and making crafts/painting and loves the seated exercises as well as the many sing alongs. They do their utmost to frequently have enjoyable live entertainment and try to be creative and fun. Families are always reminded they are welcome to participate with the residents. There is a wonderful hair salon just outside the memory care doors, a terrific pt/ot team to assist residents with insight into how to manage their physical limitations in order to retain a sense of independence as their bodies slow down and taking personal care of themselves becomes increasingly difficult. Above all I am most grateful for Deana for her willing attention and personal approach, accessibility, insightful guidance and grit dealing with it all. I am happy I chose Heritage Oaks for my Mom. It is truly a wonderful, caring place for Mom to call home.
