Heritage Oaks of Englewood

The support at Heritage Oaks is amazing. The executives here as well as all the staff from the exceptional receptionists, aides, nurses, to those who do the cleaning and maintenance are all kind, caring individuals who greet you as part of the community and give freely of their time to assist you in whatever way they can. My mom began her journey here in assisted living and now resides in the Memory Care Unit. Mom adjusted very quickly to this Unit as the smaller environment has helped her feel more secure and the increase in assistance with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing and toileting from staff are a huge help. Deana Hager is the Director of the Memory Care Unit where Mom currently resides. It was a tough decision to put my mom there and Deana has been a huge help with the transition. She and all the staff there have have been a great support to my mom as well as to myself and family. Her door is usually open and despite all the paperwork she is busy with she is kind about interruptions and has a welcome attitude especially with the residents. She has a genuine relationship with residents, their families and the staff here. She doesn’t just sit at her desk she actively gets to know the residents and I have frequently had the privilege to see her help residents with extreme difficulties to eat. Most days they have planned activities for those that can/ want to participate each week and the residents are kept socially gathered during the day in the main area so they aren’t alone in their rooms. Nurses and aides are readily prepared to assist with medications, mealtime and toileting needs. The staff often goes above and beyond -Mom really enjoys getting her nails done frequently and making crafts/painting and loves the seated exercises as well as the many sing alongs. They do their utmost to frequently have enjoyable live entertainment and try to be creative and fun. Families are always reminded they are welcome to participate with the residents. There is a wonderful hair salon just outside the memory care doors, a terrific pt/ot team to assist residents with insight into how to manage their physical limitations in order to retain a sense of independence as their bodies slow down and taking personal care of themselves becomes increasingly difficult. Above all I am most grateful for Deana for her willing attention and personal approach, accessibility, insightful guidance and grit dealing with it all. I am happy I chose Heritage Oaks for my Mom. It is truly a wonderful, caring place for Mom to call home.

Heritage Oaks of Englewood is the perfect place for our mother. She is well cared for, always clean and certainly seems happy. Our father passed away shortly after he placed her there. The staff has been so kind to our family as we navigated through this horrible time. They send pictures and are available whenever we have questions. Deanna and her staff genuinely love the residents. They are all called by their name, and they are very engaging with the residents. Placing a loved one in a memory care facility is never an easy decision, Deanna made this time very comforting for our father. He was at peace knowing his wife of 62 years will be well taken care of. That kind of comfort will never be forgotten. Thank you to all of the staff.

Heritage Oaks provided exceptional care and compassion for my mom. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her with genuine kindness and respect. They were attentive not only to her medical needs but also to her comfort and dignity. During her final days, their compassion and sensitivity made all the difference — for her and for our family. Every nurse, aide, and staff member showed such warmth and professionalism, helping to create a peaceful, caring environment. I will always be grateful for the gentle, respectful way they helped us through such a difficult time.

We moved my mom into Heritage Oaks on approximately December 15th. It has been a wonderful experience during a time of transition for our family. Deena and all of the staff make every day a special day for not only the residents but for their families. I truly feel like it is an extension of our family. My gratitude is beyond words; you have truly touched our hearts.
