I moved my mom to the Heritage 2 years ago. The independent living apartments are fine as well as the services offered but not extraordinary for the amount of money this costs. However, the reason we chose this place was for the continuum of care up to skilled nursing. We had to move my mom to the assisted living 10 days ago because of her dementia increasing. We were told she would have a phone landline since she has trouble using a cell phone. She has yet to get a working land line and no one seems the least concerned. We were told they would prompt her for activities that she has trouble remembering but then told only activities that were at the assisted living section. We were told she couldn't have her hair dryer or curling iron but there was hairdressing available that she could get weekly. Again, not available unless she walks outside over to the independent living side. No one will help her find her way over there nor will they help her remember her appointment times. So we basically moved her over there for two extra meals and medicine administration. This is a joke! I'm back to doing all of the reminders when I can get her to answer her cell phone. I should have left her in independent and hired helpers for her. The nurses and workers on the floor are super kind but everyone above them have been pretty dismissal to my concerns. I will not be recommending the Heritage to any of my friends who have aging parents in this area! Edit- while the transition from independent living to assisted living was rough, my mom is well taken care of in the Assisted Living section of the Heritage and I am thankful that I moved her where she can be more closely monitored and cared for. Updated review: I wanted to update this review because I know how hard it is to make a decision about care for your loved one. My mom has since moved to the Somerfield side of the Heritage because of her declining memory issues. She’s been there for 18 months. I am highly impressed with the care she receives in this side. The staff especially the activity staff, Jan, Mimi, Brent, and Jacob are so wonderful with the residents. The food service staff is equally kind and attentive. The nursing staff are all wonderful. We are happy we made the decision to choose this facility.

Daily I’m aware of the efficient and pleasant treatment we get, from the front desk to the least detail - cleaning of our homes and common areas, keeping out grounds in good shape, providing delicious and nourishing meals, keeping us healthy in our fitness areas, and happy in all the great activities and opportunities - on and on I could go. But the past three weeks, as I’ve struggled with bronchitis, I was just overwhelmed with gratitude to realize how wonderful is to have extra help when we need it. Although I’ve certainly used the clinic many times in the past it was especially helpful this time to be able to go down the hall, get checked out, get prescriptions, have the X-ray machine come to my apartment, have transportation take me to my doctor with only one days notice, and have my meals delivered. What a blessing! I can’t tell you how grateful I am to live here and have the cheerful, kind people on staff surrounding us and helping us. I know that you have worked hard to make these things happen, and it really pays off. Please thank everyone for me - all those who serve us so wonderfully. And when we need anything extra - like special set-up or help for Glee Club, technical assistance, help moving heavy items - whatever it is - your staff is just great to do all they can to accommodate us. The Heritage is the place to be, for sure, and I can’t thank you and them enough. With deepest gratitude, Diane Jordan

I'm so impressed with The Heritage at Brentwood. The staff is top notch! I guess that is why every resident I meet is so happy!! They have been so helpful and polite to my Mom. This was all very new to her and they made her feel at home. Everything is very well organized and clean. The grounds are well kept too. The food is delicious and there are alot of choices. I highly recommend The Heritage for anyone looking to transition to Senior Living.

My grandmother (89) has lived at The Heritage and Somerfield for the past year. I honestly do not know what my family would have done without this wonderful place! We toured four other places but none were as large as The Heritage. It was more expensive to buy in than a month to month but you do receive that back. My grandmother was “on the cusp” of needing her medicine/ meals regulated by a professional and she has found her niche in the small assisted living section. This is for people who are not ready for skilled nursing and still come and go independently. She has found three close friends in her building and goes to Chico’s, Kroger, etc. with them using the Heritage transportation. Her only complaint is that she wishes there were more male residents on her hallway, ha. The staff are like family at this point. My grandmother has had ups and downs and they always listen closely and respond to my calls/ emails within minutes. I really can’t recommend The Heritage enough!
